Now we understand the precipitous drop

After conversations with Cristobal and the Hurricanes staff...."I am shutting my recruitment down. I am locked in with Miami....I am only going to visit Miami"

Probably saw the Dollar offer and had to tighten up.. Not same athletic profile..

Me just tryna wish Dollar at top of TE board, lol.. Dont mind me..

No new news; however, did feel this was important to share. I didn’t realize he was from Key West so I thought he and Josh Johnson had been teammates already.

However, Demarcus primarily played basketball at Key West and wasn’t on the football team; as far as their varsity roster on maxpreps indicates. So he is pretty new to the sport altogether.

Very intriguing background. I understand why Mario wanted to shut this down with the big dogs lurking. .. .. feels like we may have hit oil like Guyana fellas…..take a look at the 2nd play on his sophomore highlight tape in the OP. LOL.

It is probably sacrilegious to say this given the limited production and playing experience; but I think the realm of physical profile / athleticism comparisons for him should start with Gregory Rousseau and Jimmy Graham. A Njoku comparison might be on point.

Lmk if I’m tripping lol

Obviously a HS coach is going to hype his guy however glad to see I’m not alone in this praise

And just peeped what D$ said about him. Yo Frank Tucker is tapped tf in. lol. Putting in work.

Three Miami commits participated in the camp, and it was my first chance to see them move around in person. TE/DE DeMarcus DeRoche (Gibbons) is at least 6'4, 205 and looks like the consummate athlete. He runs with a smooth gait, catches the ball with his hands, and throws better spirals than some of the QBs in attendance. DeRoche didn't take many reps during the one-on-ones, but did catch a skinny post for a TD off a deflection. Good evaluation by staffer Frank Tucker. Miami will need to fend off blue-blood suitors.
