Respectfully disagree.

1.) He has made plenty of plays on the ball, and I’d bet he is the leader on this team in PD. I don’t know what his targets vs completion % is but I’m sure someone can find it.

2.) Even if he was a 1000% “one trick pony”, it’s what he is being asked to do. He is excelling in his role, and objectively he can’t be knocked for doing what he is being asked to do. A useless minute long twitter HL clip that uses arbitrary clips is pretty useless for this discussion. The games tell a different story. Off the top of my head I remember pretty important pass break ups vs ND, SMU, and Syracuse, along with several other plays made on the ball carrier.

He's playing exactly as I expected him to and exactly how he played at Auburn in 2023.

Brantley never had good reviews from anyone that was actually at camp.

1) take into account the passing offenses that we’ve faced.

2) I did say he was excellent at that. But nonetheless it’s not the only thing he’s asked to do, he’s a DB. But he specializes behind the LoS. Didn’t base my discussion off the HL clip, just something noteworthy. He has 5 PBUs which is tied for the team lead with OJ. But nationally that’s tied for 100 with 75 other people. I’ll just say this, he is getting the Thorpe hype for his work behind the LoS. It’s better than every other semifinalist. His coverage ability, is a different story when compared to the rest.

Very good tackler as well.

He played in 10 games in 2023 and has played in 9 in 2025. Almost identical seasons. Would be curious to see some PFF info comparing the 2 years. We blitz him far more than they did.

It is nowhere near how he played at Auburn in 23. He had 2 TFLs at Auburn in 23. He has 10 TFLs here and 3 sacks. He’s blitzing more than he ever has here, way more. Your post says nothing about Chuck in camp. Chuck in camp was the more talked about of the 2. After nearly every practice you would hear about Chuck and so and so going rep for rep.

In the spring, Charles Brantley, Chris Ewald, and Isaiah Taylor played that role. None of those guys have Scott’s size and speed, nor do they have his experience in the position.

There is no guarantee we will get the ‘23 version of Scott. Like a lot of guys in this Portal class, he has something to prove. But if he can solidify that spot, he will complete a total physical upgrade of the secondary.

They just updated for you, if you watch this and dont see he been BALLING in his role all season.. He on his way to All conference and probably more.. Mannnnnn

Ya you're dead wrong...Kid has been all over the field in coverage, against the run, blitzing.

When he struggled at Auburn last year not only was he playing out of position as an outside corner, he was playing through injury.

Pretty much solidified my argument. Coverage highlights against Bethune and Syracuse. More highlights behind the LoS

Incorrect again lol…Just stop.

Plays in coverage against FSU, ND, SMU …Tackles in space and down the field against about 5 teams.

But yes we all agree, he does a ton in the box with a lot of LOS havoc.
