Following Miami's 77-7 dominant performance against the FAMU Rattlers, the Hurricanes have moved up to the No. 5 spot in this week's AP Poll.

Last week, the Hurricanes were ranked as the nation' No. 7 team in the country. However, the college football gods came down on the Ohio State Buckeyes after they choked in the second half against the new No. 1 team, the Texas Longhorns. The Oregon Ducks also stumbled, dropping out of the top-five following a loss to Oklahoma State.

There are a total of four ACC schools inside the top-25: Miami (5), SMU (16), Louisville (23), and Virginia (25). Check out the full top-25 down below:

People are stressing over early-season poll math too much. Just enjoy being in the top 5 and let the resume build itself over the next month.

 

I thought Pittsburgh would have more than one vote and be higher in the also receiving votes

 

People want to see how we handle prosperity this year. We sh*t the bed in the middle of the season last year and only got in because we beat ND head to head. We need convincing road victories against Wake and Clemson and, of course, the Trap Game at Chapel Hill.

We are only behind Texas in first place votes, yet we're ranked 5th. It's pretty wild when you think about it.

Where the horse**** comes in. Can see some love for Georgia and Indiana, they have lived up to their billing the way we have.

An issue with rankings is that they keep pace with what is presented as the aggregate before them, instead of, “I have my top 25 preseason and then I’m adjusting based on merit from where I had ‘scouted’ and ‘ranked’ each of these to be at the onset of the season.”

If Ohio State was my #5 and Texas my #6 before the season and after Week 1 then I have a clear metric where they should move to; instead most of these folks (who don’t pay attention) is reacting to the new poll weekly to decide up and down.

 

We are only 14 points behind Indiana. If Indiana has any struggles in the next couple of weeks, all we would need is for 8 voters to flip their Miami-Indiana rankings and we would move to #4.

We just need 8 out of 68 voters to move us over Indiana. It could happen by Clemson.

 

I want to be ranked behind ND when we play. I hope it’s 1 v 2, but I think UGA will be ranked 1.

The context is that we’re sensitive to a long term bias that turns into a beauty contest late in the season over who gets selected into the CFP. A bunch of 3 loss SEC and BiG teams will try to jump a 2 loss or even a 1 loss ACC team based on their strength of schedule which is influenced by these early polls.

Trust me. We’ll be behind ND going into that game. That’s if things work out as they should. The National Media wants to glaze CJ Carr in the worst way possible.
