9-3 but 8-4 isn't out of the realm of possibility.
Until we prove we can handle teams like Pitt VA Tech GA Tech Syracuse consistently I will assume we lose at least 1-2 ACC gms every year. Talent alone doesn't win games or we would have been in the playoffs multiple times already.

we will continue to lose those stupid ACC games until we prove that we arent gonna get out coached by any bum across the sidelines.

Momentum is important. Builds a vibe and atmosphere at the stadium.

People are building up two lines of excuses. The early losses don't matter and the ACC screwed us with the back part of the schedule, November away games, etc. To your point, start 2-2, I don't see us running the table from there.

Year 4. Playoffs. Go!

The Irish game is needed in the worst way for Mario, Miami has shown signs of life over the last 20 years only to fail once again and never provide stability.

History has not been kind to coaches in his spot, time to change the narrative. This is a MUST win.

*2009, Shannon goes 9-4*
2010 ranked #12 and gets embarrassed by OSU to start the year (finished 7-5) - FIRED

*2017, Richt goes 10-3*
2018 ranked #8 and gets embarrassed by LSU to start the year (finished 7-5) - RETIRED

*2020, Manny goes 8-3*
2021 ranked #13 and gets embarrassed by Bama to start the year (finished 7-5) - FIRED

i cant take anyone seriously for bashing the scheduling. we have 8 home games lol. any decent team can win 4 away games.

2-2 is essentially what got manny fired a month into the season in his third year. he lost the mich state (at home) and bama games (at least the bama was neutral). were starting with ND at home and UF at home. no excuses especially when there are no injuries for the ND game and thats the healthiest youll be all year long with 3 months plus to prep.

If Mario goes 2-2 to start the year, there’s a chance he gets same fate. Likely? No, but people will be talking. He needs to beat ND week 1.

There’s no better situation than the one he has in front of him. Rivalry game at home, night time and the ONLY game on in America. Everyone will be watching. Time to stamp it.
 
I want to beat ND with a burning passion but I can stomach a hard fought, close loss to them because their program is a couple years ahead of us in terms of returning to prominence.

BUT what I will absolutely not accept is more late season fizzles to inferior teams. That **** has to end this year because it paints the narrative that we just can’t close.

Lose to ND and finish 11-1 and I’m good.

Beat ND and then finish 9-3 losing to the likes of Syracuse, Vag Tech and Pitt to end the season will chap my *** big time.
 
I will say the thing we got going for us that NO ONE in the media is talking about is Dawson with time to prep.

The dude has been a KILLER early on in the year when no one has had tape on his offense.

He’s flattened the OOC competition early.

- 529 yards, 41 points

we cant afford the buyout. hes here for a while. now support could dry up but that contract isnt getting bought out

Yeah highly unlikely, but 2-2 start will get people talking. Earliest Rio is out would be end of next year. Seat would be melting lava hot though. Just beat ND and we don’t even have to discuss it.
