Miami Hurricanes 2023 Roster Composition

RB, DT, and S are terrifyingly thin. We need multiple portal guys at each of those positions ASAP before the top targets get scooped up.
Tough to sign portal guys when they don’t know who they’ll be playing for IMO. Don’t understand what the hold up is on Gattis but it will cost us.

Updated 12/11 to include:

Additions: Chris Johnson (2023, HB)
Departures: Peyton Matocha (2019, QB), Clay James (2019, LS), Ousman Traore (2019, OL), Caleb Johnson (2022-T, LB)

Miami has now had 30 players depart from the 2022 team due to graduation or transfer portal. By a narrow margin this is the highest attrition seen over a two year period (62 players) in the 17 years of records tracked. The next highest was the 61 players who left in 2019-2020.

Updated to include Khamuari Rogers entering the transfer portal. Our secondary is getting quite thin.

We're now up to 31 players who were on the 2022 roster who have departed through graduation or transfer portal. Not including the present incoming class, we're at 54 returning players.

Breakdown of departures:
  • Quarterbacks (1)
  • Wide Receivers (2)
  • Tight End (1)
  • Running Back (2)
  • Offensive Line (3)
  • Defensive Tackle (3)
  • Defensive End (3)
  • Linebacker (3)
  • Safety (6)
  • Cornerback (5)
  • Special Teams (2)
