Turn on the tape, that’s all that matters. The rest is history and has all been adjudicated.
Whether Miami kept it under wraps is irrelevant. This story is newsworthy & it’s not previously reported, so every reason to be reported now. There’s no statutes of limitations on when a police report or story can no longer be reported. Plenty of stories are dated due to being reported off newly unearthed documents or reports.
The only thing newly unearthed here is that Bain is in the NFL draft.Whether Miami kept it under wraps is irrelevant. Timing of it is obviously suspicious, but fact is it had never been reported. Again, it’s news. The only thing newly unearthed here is that Bain is in the NFL draft.
News entirely because Bain is a first round pick. If it had Andy Lopez the produce manager at Publix, it would never be written.Timing of it is obviously suspicious, but fact is it had never been reported. Again, it’s news.
My point is it’s news. Whether it was reported at the time it happened or now, it’s still newsworthy. Granted the timing is horrible & Bain would have probably been better served dealing with it two years ago. That’s not my point. My only question to you is why you mentioned about it being kept under wraps. And it’s relevant because YOU BROUGHT IT UP. Again, how did Miami keep it under wraps?
I mean, I hope you realize that Miami has absolutely zero control on what is in the public record. This was in the public record.
That that was an accusatory statement you made, and you have to answer for it.
Exactly, Bain is a public figure. He’s not a faceless store manager.News entirely because Bain is a first round pick. If it had Andy Lopez the produce manager at Publix, it would never be written.
Had this showed up after the accident or even when the girl died, it would have been news.
You are starting to get it.News entirely because Bain is a first round pick. If it had Andy Lopez the produce manager at Publix, it would never be written.

It was news two years ago. It's a smear today. The timing is the entire difference. You are starting to get it.

At least three Miami athletes were involved in an accident at 4 in the morning that ultimately resulted in a fatality. Were any injuries reported at the time? Assume it was around the time of spring practice, so anyone held out of practice? Any disciplinary action reported?
Major point is Miami, like most programs, allows the media limited & tightly controlled access to players. They largely control the narrative. Back in the day, the media enjoyed far more access post-practice to players & thus much easier to pickup scuttlebutt around the program.
Under wraps doesn't mean "covered up". You can keep something under wraps without covering it up, which seems to be your confusion here.Still not answering my question. Miami did not limit anyone’s access to the public record.
I’m still trying to figure out how Miami kept something that was a matter of public record “under wraps” as you accused the school of doing.
You keep dodging the question.
A smear by reporting the facts? The Herald author literally wrote the most boring news story ever and because we all know it doesn't make anyone look good, we are calling it a smear. It was news two years ago. It's a smear today. The timing is the entire difference.
