Miami has inquired about Tom Herman (per CBS Miami)

i HATE the 3-4/ F herman. Fuente, butch, or bust

Dave Aranda ran an aggressive 3-4 at Utah State and now Wisconsin and has had some of the best D's in the country. Just because Golden and his lover No'D have no clue how to properly run a 3-4, doesn't mean its horrible.

Some of the best defensive minds this game has EVER seen ran 3-4's

**** Lebeau's 3-4 is nothing like what you've seen from Golden

I love how people on this board are dying to get this guy after a 7-0 start at Houston wow no wonder this program is irrelevant

He did a terrific job with OSU and look at ****ty OSU offense has been this year without him.

All the OSU fans are vouching for him.

he did a great job no one is denying that, but we are falling for this hot commodity once again the guy has never been a head coach besides the games he has coached at HOUSTON. Oh and last time I check Ohio State is still putting 50 points on the board almost every game

Golden and Herman do not have the same resume. Not to mention, they come from a completely different coaching tree.

I'm not sure why people keep comparing them solely from being at a mid major. It's lazy analysis. Same with Fuente.

Sumlin blew the doors off at Houston if I recall. He has fielded some pretty good teams at A&M. But it seems he cannot win the big games there outside of the miracle game Manziel won for him against Bama. So can we just assume that Herman is a better coach than Sumlin and he will perform better at the next level? I am not so sure.

Finally someone with a brain on this board!!! Dude is being touted as the next Nick Saban or Urban Meyer. For the record I'm not against hiring him, but I just want the guy that knows how to rebuild a program and that's Butch David. He would come cheap and the extra money can be used for assistants

We need the best coach available that can hire a good staff. I'm not sold on Herman but I know he can probably do well here (a lot of coaches can). It's hard to mess this up....

If we truly are in the process of "evaluating" Tom Herman, as soon as the BOT sees what an intense savage Herman is and how much he values winning, they will lose interest.

Butch david?

Herman may end up being a great coach; however, Davis is my #1 choice. We already know what he can do at Miami - because he has done it.

When comparing and contrasting we must look at the best available data - Davis was at Miami already as the HC and built the program to its highest level ever. We were the best team in the country for 3 years in a row. We got screwed with the ratings that put FSU in the championship against an awful Oklahoma team. We beat Nebraska easily in 2001 and beat OSU in 2002 until a ref decided to throw a flag a few minutes after the game had finished...

This is true. Great coaches can (and do) come from anywhere. Tressel was at....Youngstown St. I think and he did well at Ohio St. I don't know if he's coaching now, but he was pretty good as a coach.

I don't know how good Herman and Fuente are, but if Davis isn't picked then I'll pay a bit more attention to these two since their names are being mentioned a lot on the boards...

Excellent point. The soft-shouldered BOT wants no part of a savage personality. Butch, however, they're already familiar with. They may not all love him, but he's a known quantity.

I sweat some of you potatoes would rather lose and run your preferred scheme. Who gives a ***? Just win ***ing games!

Lol tom herman has the nest houston team they have had in 15 years that was left to him

Why is that? Can you expound? Is it loaded with seniors?

Houston was 5-7, 8-5, and 8-5 the three years previous to his hire. Why is this team loaded but those weren't?

Alabama does it to perfection every year. I think we could put out some freaks in the Jack position.
