Miami/Florida visitor list

Yup!
I have no problem with Lane or Cook coming to the game. I would not invite Lammons. If we invited them then it means we still interested in signing them. However, I would ask them that in turn for getting to come to the game as a guest of the University of Miami, we are asking you not to wear Florida Gators apparel or colors. They don't have to wear UM stuff, but come dressed neutral . That's a respect thing.

If they start trying to recruit for the Gators or talking **** then they should be asked to leave. I would sit our big boys next to them like McDermott, Darling, Valentine and Thomas to keep them inline...

Why would you not invite Lammons?

Like a lot of reports on here said. It was either going to be Bethel or Lammons and when Bethel committed we cooled on Lammons.

Maybe we cooled on Lammons b/c he was all gator? I don't necessarily buy the fact that we had one CB spot left to offer and Bethel took it. That's not how this game works. If you're good enough, staff will make room. Besides, it's not even september yet and we all know several of our commits won't sign with us.

arent they both around the same size but bethel faster?

Win or lose against Florida, we have more to lose by not inviting the kids. Personally I think the team/coaching staff have more **** to worry about Sept 7 than what attire recruits are wearing to the game. It is what it is and let them witness the *** whooping we're putting on Florida for themselves, from the either team sideline or the upper deck is up to them.

I bought a Powerball ticket, for a chance I might win, knowing I probably won't. What's a few tickets to recruits for our chance that we might flip them?

I want all the Gator commits at the game. Just so long as they are made to sit there and take the abuse they are going to get from our commits as we destroy that team on the field all game long.

Why invite? If staff don't want

I wouldn't invite lammons. we aren't actively recruiting him. no reason. they don't want him. why invite him?
u guys don't understand how this works. kids like lane and cook will be there w/ other committed kids and kids being recruited. around the fb staff and some coaches. etc. they aren't showing up in gator gear and gonna be allowed in.
this game is important, but, we have more to gain by winning then we have to lose by losing. lose and still have a good year and we won't lose kids b/c of the loss. win and we maybe get a kid or 2 like cook.

There's a lot of Lulz in this thread.

Some people need to take a step away from the ledge and realize that you can't flip a kid without visits, regardless if they're committed to your hated rival or not. This is how recruiting works.

This right here...

We can mother**** em all the way up I-95 if they sign with that other school. Until then...do what needs to be done.

Al Golden knows...there's levels to this ****.

Remember Lammons threw up the U and then crossed it with the "X" at FNL? Yeah, shouldn't be there or at least nowhere near our sideline.

It will probably be like when O'Leary came to visit during the CANES vs. Noles game and hung out with Noles commits during the game

If that's not how it works maybe they need to re-evaluate. I'd rather bring in a 9th grader that we are after than someone we don't want or that has bad mouthed us.

Kinda surprised that so many people in this thread think that our coaches should not let these kids attend because they are committed elsewhere or because they don't have an offer. That's just not how it works. I'm especially confused as to what having an offer has to do with anything.

A lot of kids go to games all over the country for teams they will never play for. You let anyone who pretty much has a remote chance of coming to your school. You sell your brand.

Only game all year we will for sure have a sell out and a great gameday atmosphere why would you turn people away??

Not to mention if Miami goes out there and beats UF not exactly going to hurt having 1-2 kids we are trying to flip be in attendance

And last thing Ermon Lane is a **** of a prospect. This afraid of competition stuff is ridiculous. UF has been significantly better than us for a while now. We arent Alabama that we can play the he is afraid of the depth chart card. I'd love to have him as a Hurricane. This board devalues prospects immediately when they commit to other schools and its just childish.

i hope he commits to UM.... i havent seen any tape of him but I know if a talent like Johnnie Dixon calls you a freak then that holds weight. Also i just like this guys confidence, when he says nobody can cover him, he means it.

I agree with you on Lane and Cook, I said that a few posts back. Just don't see inviting Lammons and Quincy. I'd rather give a ticket to future recruits or others we might be after.

its not uncommon for schools to do this at all. now would i do it? **** no, you commit elsewhere then **** off. but coaches do it now only to show that there are no hard feelings over the decisions but to not hurt relationships with the local schools as well. for example dante fowler visited uf like 5 times while committed to fsu, all on uf's dime. luckily it worked out in our favor and we were able to flip him. but there have been instances where we let commits of other schools visit and they spent the entire time recruiting for their schools. this is where coaches have to have a read on recruits and their intentions and figure out what weekend to let them come if you let them come at all.

All depends on the talent of the kid, you let elite talent like Lane & Cook visits anytime, but Lammons? **** no...

Chances that Dalvin & Lane show up in gators attire. Ill say 75% lol.

Good, they will feel foolish walking out of the stadium.

They'd get kicked off the sideline if they did. Plus if they were that stupid and disrespectful they'd have done it at the bbq or something so they wont it's just the way to continue to recruit those 2

Do you really think these kids will miss this game due to respect for Miami? These kids will say almost anything to make sure they will have their ticket for the game. I hope Lane & Lammons don't get free tickets. Cook should get ticket because it has been proven that he can be flipper(Clemson). Lane isn't isn't coming hear because he's scared of the depth chart, so no ticket.

Why is Lane scared? He's looking to start early and lets be real its not happening here where UM is 8 deep right now and probably can be 10 deep literally next year. If he wants to play now and leave early we are a bad choice. Now "free tickets" are a little bit overstated because it's like a media credential they have a pass that says they are with UM if UM wants to continue to pursue them which is up to the staff not fans.

That whole "I want to start early" mindset is a ridiculous thing to me, because there are statistics that indicate that players who see significant playing time their true freshman season tend to be more prone to injuries throughout their entire career. Not to mention, the advantage of having to sit behind somebody who knows the game better than you and therefore serves as a sort of coach outside the practice field.

One of the reasons the Canes' teams of the early 2000's were so successful is because you had guys learning from other guys how to play their positions, for multiple generations. Ed Reed taught Sean Taylor who taught Brandon Meriweather who taught Kenny Phillips. James Jackson taught Edgerin James who taught Clinton Portis who taught Willis McGahee and Frank Gore. Coming in to a situation where a team is recruiting 5 or 6 other guys at your position in the same class, I can understand. But there is no reason to fear a couple of upperclassmen being ahead of you, as you only have skills to gain by being in that position. Everybody gets their turn if they work hard enough at it, particularly at skill positions such as WR, RB, DB, S, and LB. Defensive Tackles too, as almost every school today goes with a heavy amount of rotations that that position.

True that. No matter how great a longshot a kid is, you have to keep coming at them, keep coming at them.

That "I'm not going to recruit you anymore because you like someone else" mindset is a loser mentality. We need to just keep coming at them.

Quincy Willson has been spotted in Miami today..

This is the exact reason why they shouldn't be invited, I think it was quoted that he was talking trash about the canes while he was their.

That doesn't mean it will have any impact with other recruits/commits. If Lane/Cook has that much of an impact on any recruit then we never had a chance at that recruit and anyway the game will speak the loudest not the recruits
