Rolling with Thomas and Scott instead of Haulcy is a little different than Cam to Preston Dewey however your point is well taken.

One is rated the 6 safety in the portal, the other is 9th. Not saying that the 247 rankings are gospel by any means, but those that are paid to evaluate don't think there's a huge gap between the two.

Thomas will test much better than Haulcy. Not sure Haulcy can translate to the NFL as easily, he’s more of a college safety. Sort of like Jaquan Johnson in a bigger frame.

Thomas can translate physically to the league but I don’t think he ever gets there mentally.

On the other hand, he was coached last year by Willie Martinez and he’s a joke. So maybe there’s more there and it wasn’t just the bump in competition that caught up to him.

The way Thomas strikes and hit people, certainly the Tone Setter we have been missing. Curious how that/he translates to the ACC vs SEC. I think he really would be the perfect #3 safety. Lot of question marks to expect him to be THE GUY

I would be ok to pair him Keionte Scott (who would hybrid between safety and nickel) even if it meant no Haulcy.

Agree. Dont think he’s capable of being primary guy beside Poyser. Especially coming in the summer and trying to learn a new system.

Funny. I do know a guy who was offered a job without an in person visit. He insisted on travelling to the job and meeting folks. They rescinded the offer. I guess it was better than getting booted after moving 1/2 way across the country.
