Miami drops Ah’Mari Stevens

If I dont specifically post about the prospect in their original commit thread it means I really dont care about the recruit as a talent. Those are the ones that I shrug my shoulders and say "ok I guess"

They dont wow me, this one I never cared for. If I have nothing nice to say I dont say it sometimes.

So has Gaby updated the reasoning behind this yet? I’m assuming he was trying to squeeze more money out of UM and they walked away from the table but I’m interested in the details

I didn't even know he was at LSU, yesterday. As far as players committed, you have to let the program know what you are doing with other programs. It's not a case of, you can't take visits. They would prefer you didn't, but that isn't the end if your honest and keep the team informed. I believe this covers both players yesterday. You certainly can't, not notify the program your going on a visit and post pictures on the net on top of some other stuff he did. Obviously, if you know your a developmental project, you have less room to be hiding or doing things considered being kept from them, Linton.

From what Flo said it was because some dudes have not been straight up with the staff.
It’s not that they can’t visit as much as it’s the player not being transparent or straight up with it.
He also said that Tamu and lsu are not giving A fck when it comes to paying and are gonna cause some issues for everyone in recruiting.
Said the Stevens situation was something Miami had been monitoring for a while and knew the kid was playing games.

Yo definition of “savage”and my definition of lame seems to be completely off, which is cool with me.
You know you aren't going to win this argument... I agree that there is nothing "savage" about the X post. It's the weird bush league level we stoop to at times. It is basically the same level Trinton got roasted for on the basketball board last week. A bank indicating he is not expected to be in this class would have sufficed. Wasn't there just a recent bank that could have made this known?

Don't care that much about this recruit or his going to LSU. Just fill the class with equal to or better players and move on.

The nationwide buzz around this program right now is something I have not seen since 2003. We’ve got everyone talking, and we are on everyone’s radar.

Let that sink in for those of us who have suffered in purgatory seems like for ages.

The program is on the right track. We are bringing in highly talented guys who want to win - that’s a tough combo to find these days because most just want to get paid and coast to the league.

We absolutely do not need to allow the fvckery that persisted for years with local recruits calling the shots, holding us hostage and then ultimately bailing on us at the last minute.

This kid wants to play games - fvck him. He’s not that good to play games with. Move on and find better - much better.

Props to the staff for sacking up.

Well said sir, well said.

That was one of the most frustrating things about recruiting the last 20 years. I could live with the out of state recruits from Cali, NY, Texas, ect....showing interest initially and having us in their top schools, but never committing. I understood that. We never had much of a chance with most of them and they never really "played" us. Just got us excited for a bit. All these local kids, that's a different story. Showing interest and even giving us verbal's at times. Having us in their top 3 until the very end. Just stringing us along the entire time, knowing they were never choosing us.

It isn't because of his play on the field. Our fan base had him underrated. I haven't gotten a word on this yet. I am sure we weren't happy about all the visits, especially with his HS transferring history. I will take a guess, he came off of his LSU visit, brought his NIL offer from LSU to Miami and Miami said, no thanks. He calls LSU and commits. Who knows, it may just be the visits, but you need to pay a kid to not take the visits they would get paid for. Nothing is simple in recruiting. Get McFarland now. I really hope that's it. Give me Lennear, McFarland and Moore, I am ecstatic.

Your guess is not what happened. Just shut up already.

He was not honest about his visits and intentions and we have other guys that we like more. The myth of "Miami didn't want to match his LSU NIL offer" is just false.

But thanks for "taking a guess", stupid as it was.

And it would happen year after year after year. So much so that you knew that Player X was never going to sign - it was just a matter of when he was going to flip and to whom; not if.

Any kid misguided enough to put their faith and trust in Lane Kiffin after what he did to the Ole Miss program and everything else we know about, I don’t even want that kid around.

Tells me everything I need to know.

  • Key Aspects of Johnson's Management Philosophy:
    • Performance-Based Discretion: Johnson allowed star players like Troy Aikman more leniency, such as waking him up gently if found sleeping in a meeting, whereas he would cut a lower-level player for the same offense.
He allowed Mike Irvin to do coke on the play sheet.

So now you're changing your theory from "Miami wouldn't match the NIL" to "he took the visit without notifying Miami".

At least your moronic guesses finally landed on the truth.

Lennear keeps Miami in the loop, takes visits, collects money, sticks with Miami.

Stevens didn't.

**** him, he's gone now.
