Miami DE's vs OSU DE's

This will seem a little rude..but the difference in this game will be the way Beck plays. That's it. He needs one of those games where he's in the zone. Bain is a beast we all get it. Need Beck to show up. Sorry to hijack your thread.
A great point. Could be a mid day for both Qbs .

But I prefer sixth year 35-4 Beck over a redshirt frehsman facing more pressure with a worse OL.

Everyone seems to be ignoring this ^. Sayin played inferior competition all year. The two games where he played a defense with a pulse, they put up 24… COMBINED.

Beck, imo, doesn’t need to win us this game. He just needs to not lose it

There’s probably a few reasons for our DEs having more snaps. They r extremely condition, the amount of snaps they play due to depth, and the fact that our offense at times seems to disappear and can’t take time off the clock.
They are in great shape.

We also have lightfoot who is SICK.

We have 300

more snap counts than OSU. Which means⬇️⬇️⬇️

They are in great shape but I can’t imagine that’s sustainable in the CFP. They will eventually wear down imo. Hopefully they won’t play that many snaps against OSU - my guess is they won’t because of snaps per minute (OSU ranks one of the lowest in the country) and they won’t be chasing around reed too much. Need lightfoot to continue to have good reps and hopefully have reps in the teens. Maybe it’s asking too much to get scroggins 7-10 snaps? Blount at DE is also an option.

Day’s mantra was “compress the game” all season. Ohio state was one of slowest tempo teams all year and purposefully ran their offense that way for less wear and tear for another playoff run and keep the defense playing less snaps.

I anticipate he will try to break that tendency for Miami and will play tempo again, especially with him calling the plays.

They'd be dumb if they don't look at what Louisville did and use a similar blueprint. Bell destroyed us with short quick routes and then YAC. They knew they couldn't block us long so they planned their whole game around timing and quick passes and went up 14 real quick. Seems like Day could easily do the same thing with Sayin/Smith/Tate.

I just hope Heatherman has a plan and adjusts quicker than he did against Louisville.

I legit love our depth man... Mario building a MONSTER in these trenches.
