4th & 8 inside the Northwestern 25 yard line, Miami Northwestern was lined up in punt formation with the score tied 20-20 with 10 minutes left in the game. Northwestern HC Max Edwards pulled a wild card out of his sleeve and decided to attempt a fake punt..... that didn't end up well for him. The Chiefs stopped the Bulls and three plays later 2018 RB Camron Davis scored to give Carol City a 27-20 lead.

Carol City's defense has carried this team through the season; when the offense wasn't there, the defense always found a way to win the game. Despite their key stops throughout the game; they will be without one of their star players for the playoffs. 2017 Miami commit DeAndre Wilder.

"My age finally caught up to me," said Wilder "The age limit to play is 19 and 9 months, which means my high school career is over."

With Wilder high school career in the books, he decided to end his recruitment and commit to the hometown Hurricanes

"I always loved Miami growing up. When Auburn told me they didn't have a spot for me in their class, I talked it over with my family and we decided that Miami is the place for me."

With the commitment out of the way, Wilder can now focus on improving #Squad17 and helping his team secure a state championship

"I'm just glad I got it over with, I'm going to do everything I can to make this recruiting class better and I just want to help my team win a state championship, I know I can't play but anything that they need I'm going to do to help bring a title to the carol city."

Auburn already has 3 LB commits and they lead for another four star one, so it makes sense they didn't have room for him, I'm sure he was their plan B guy.

That doesn't necessarily mean that he's a bad player though. He reminds me of Pinckney, if Wilder has half the instinct pinckney does, he'll be producing.

What an odd way to determine eligibility; why don't they just say that you can't be over a certain age at the beginning of the season (pick a date). It seems weird to me that you would let kids play during a season, but then make them stop during that same season when they hit a certain age.

I don't care how we get him when they put the jersey and helmet on you're a Cane regardless of how and why. Glad he's real and I hope he proves Auburn wrong

Kid ran this year an official 200m in 22.87....at his school almost as fast as Randy Russell the DB 22.72 and faster than Cameron Davis their RB 23.36. That time also makes him faster than Redwine 23.26 and most of our other DB with the exception of Young and Elder.

There's nothing on his film not to like. That being said he needs to add good weight.

He's not polished as a LB, but is a beast in pass rush and has all the traits to round out with proper coaching. He really could use a RS. Unfortunately, we'll probably need to use him next year in limited role given how thin we are at LB.

Tell me more about this running back Camron Davis . Wonder if we're after this rb
Search his name on CIS, you'll find plenty on him... He's been discussed dozens of times.

2018 RB who was committed to Oregon St for awhile, but just recently decommitted from them a few weeks ago.

He hasn't been offered by us yet, but as his Senior season comes, I'm pretty certain we will.

"I always loved Miami" says every recruit ever that flips. And if he love Miami so much don't think a second he wouldn't flip to Auburn if they go " hey we got room now"
