Miami cannot win the Coastal

Don’t think so about what part?

UNC has 3 ACC losses (they own the tie breaker, but if we win out they aren’t in play.

Virginia has 2 ACC losses (they own the tie breaker, we need them to lose one more and we need to win out.

Miami has 2 ACC losses

Pitt has 1 ACC loss to us (we own the tie breaker, need them to lose 1 more)

Hence, if we win out, if UNC beats Virginia giving them 3 ACC losses, and if Virginia beats Pitt giving them 2 ACC losses. We would only be tied with Pitt and would own the tie breaker over them.
Virgina doesn’t need to lose to Pitt. Just any other ACC opponent.

Right, but we are just circling the most probable losses, which is Virginia losing at Pitt and Pitt losing at home to UNC. Sure they can slip up to others. But THOSE are the games to watch.

This conversation really goes too far,...lol. We're not talking 3 loss tie breakers or anything. Both of those teams just need to lose (if we win out),....it doesn't matter to who.

True but UVA only has two conference games left (even though an earlier poster seems to think ND is in the conference). They play Pitt and VA Tech, and Tech is god awful this year so the mostly like loss for UVA is Pitt.

They’re more likely to lose to both. They’re not good…at all.

2001: Win a Natty with the greatest CFB team of all time.

2004: Join the ACC.

Every year since: relying on someone who understands quantum physics to explain how we can still win the Coastal.

Let that permeate.

Should have stayed in the Big East?

Yay Coastal!! WGAF. Winning the ACC no longer gives you **** if you are not in the top 4. We needed that #1/#2 Clemson team on the other side.

pitt and uva have to lose 1 game each then we are back in the drivers seat.

pitt has: duke, unc, va and cuse left

uva has: nd(?), pitt and vt left
We don’t care about the Coastal, that’s just a pit-stop on the way to a National Championship.

Miami plays for Championship’s. Anything else is inconsequential.
