When you keep going after players who you know are going very high in the draft, you learn and change your strategy. But not Morris. South Carolina goes after player who are drafted after the 5th round. Whats that done for them, only 2 nat’l championships in a row,and maybe a third this year. Why can’t Morris adjust?

we dont need to "get a break"

he needs to get a ******* clue

Bummer. At least we know that top-flight prospects want to come here.
no they dont

if they did......they wouldnt sign once they got drafted

Correct. The highest draft pick that has ever come to UM during Morris' tenure was Jemile Weeks, an 8th rounder. These first round kids "sign" with Miami to get leverage in their MLB contract negotiations and nothing more. And Morris uses it as excuse that we are getting "killed in the draft." After almost 20 years of doing this, he knows these kids aren't coming.

Not to take away from your point, but I believe Yasmani Grandal was a 1st rounder that came in under coach Morris??

Grandal made bonus demands early and teams shied away from him due to signability concerns. That is why he dropped to the 27th round. Same thing happened with Harold Martinez

Harold Martinez, like Al Bundy, peaked in highschool.

The White Sox will sign supplementary first round pick Keon Barnum pending a physical on Monday, reports Laura Keeley of the Tampa Times. Barnum, a high school first baseman out of Tampa, will forego his scholarship to the University of Miami to join the White Sox organization after being selected 48th overall.

The White Sox were close to reaching an agreement with Barnum on draft night, according to Chicago's director of amateur scouting Doug Laumann. The recommended bonus for the selection is $1.05MM.

Caneballer, who actually will make it into this class? Looks like it was decimated by the draft again...

No one taken in the first 3 rounds so basically no one that can step in and make a huge impact. David Thompson, who I don't think is this superhuman stud that others consider him to be, is having shoulder surgery so who knows how he will be when he returns to action.

Oh... He'll turn you into a believer eventually.
