Yall can wear shoes no matter what apparel deal we have 🤣

It’s not impossible to be good bball school with adidas. It has great coaching and good funding that has propelled us. Shoe game is a bigger deal in BBall than sponsorships in football. So it’s harder to attract Nike athletes especially the one and done kids who just ride whoever is the baddest Nike school.

This unlocks a new door, that’s all I’m saying.
Its not impossible but highly unlikely. Since 1997 the team that won the national championship in basketball has been sponsored by:

Nike/Jordan Brand-23
Adidas-4
UA-1

Of the 4 Adidas, Louisville in 2013 (which was vacated) Kansas has 2 (2008 and 2022) and Arizona 1997.

Will there be EYBL players who don't end up at a Nike school? Sure but its rare and usually accompanied by other factors.

This is huge for bball and anyone who doesn't understand this has not spent much time in the elite youth basketball circuits.
This is way better articulated than I ever could. I will say some of my later googling on how adidas has been moving to sign more HS talent for shoe deals and the 3SSB looks to be improving. The tides are shifting slightly away, but Nike is by and away the big dog in HS BBall tourneys and being accessible into their pool now is an advantage.

This is the biggest advantage of the Nike deal besides the money. Idrc about apparel or vague storytelling marketing advantages / vibes.

BTW how asleep at the wheel must Dan Radakovich have been for not even trying to negotiate a deal with Nike. I'm just a football fan and it was very obvious Nike could potentially be looking to make a deal here with a Championship program with a history of dominance. Incompetence really.
The difference in your AD being a career administrator vs business-acumen and why everyone is shifting their strategy in their athletic department

Never really got into the unis convo but the only Adidas I've ever owned is shell toes and a UM jersey or shirt..I woke up to great news today (I work overnight)
