The most impressive part watching his highlights was how he moves. You can’t coach 6’5” and 330 with agility and some quickness. I’m super excited we got him.
I agree. Just watched his film and I’m extremely impressed with him. Young man is extremely twitchy for a 6’ 5”, 330 LB dude. He gets off the line very quickly and is really fast. He also exhibits high football I.Q. on defense, diagnosing plays. He wasn’t always just blindly chasing upfield. Shows good discipline and once he get his mitts on a QB or RB, it’s a wrap.

This is exactly the type of DT that Georgia lands every recruiting season. He ranks as a whale, in my opinion.

Wait, wait, wait...

A Defensive Tackle can LOSE WEIGHT?

I was assured by many Gator fans that this is a physical impossibility...
And some Canes fans as well.
I guess the idea behind wanting him to lose weight is that he needs to lose the bad weight before the college S & C staff can but it back on as good weight. But I’d prefer that to coming in at 325 and is up to 350-360 after a few years of college eating and lifting.

UM has always had great DT’s who get upfield with their quickness; Brown, Kennedy, Maryland, Sapp. With the exception of Wilfork none were lined up over the center and trying to take up both A gaps. And even big Vince was great at getting off the blocks and getting upfield. He just did it at 340 instead of 285 like the rest of them.
