Miami -14.5 vs Louisville

I live in the Pacific NW. watched a ton of Oregon games. The Cristobal specials become obvious when you see it season after season. What I can’t explain is why it happens. He isn’t going to outcoach anyone, but still wins a lot of games with a talent advantage. But then 1-2 times a year the talent doesn’t show up. One can say he got outschemed in those particular games but he’s outschemed in nearly every game. So there has to be a different reason besides being outschemed.

It’s fairly straightforward. His teams are rarely, if ever, capable of playing 4 full quarters of good football against teams with a pulse. We can loosely define that as .500ish+ teams. For a CEO-type/non-Xs and Os coach, He is not a good motivator either.

So you look at situations where motivation could be a problem (BYE weeks, road trips) and scrappy opponents with HCs that could exploit weaknesses, Particularly conference opponents with familiarity with systems and tendencies.

Before the season the games I had circled were UL, @ SMU, @ VT and @ Pitt. He will lose 1 to 2 of the remainder.

Last year I had Syracuse circled preseason and expected us to drop that one.

I have explained it before. The philosophy of just out effort, whip the man in front of you, I dont care if its 11 man box just push is not hard to motivate when you have to go to Ohio state as underdog with oregon team down best players, but over a full season your kids arent gonna be able to give that same effort they give in big game for every opponent without schematic design or aggressiveness. He dials it back in those games also so you get clipped like Stanford same season couple weeks later.

Happens every year.

Eh, you all are sleeping on UL, imo. I think people are paying too much attention to all the PFF grades.

They are a few plays away from being 5-0. Would you be saying those things had they beaten UVA?

They have a pretty easy schedule the rest of the way. They have a great shot as anyone else to make the ACCCG, imo.

Lot of us (me included) fell for the PFF banana in tailpipe. I recommend ignoring PFF grades from here on out.
