They say the 2 and 3 star thing all the time but the recruit nicks were so little back then they were wrong, Miami got the best prospects we knew who were ballers and most the magazines were wrong. Now its more accurate cause of camps social media etc. These fans r gone bro they dont know anything anymore, im like buggin out that im reading some of the **** they say. Like if times dont change anything

Miami wasnt getting the highly ranked guys back then either. Butch said the classes were barely top 25. People just look at what those guys became.

It's the eye test. This is what Miami is supposed to look like. Instead, we look like the Duke and Virginia's of the world now. We've lowered the bar substantially on what's acceptable. This is why I laughed when I found myself debating dudes on here when I said despite the stats, we don't have a better defense than Bama.

Fuq tell these imbeciles, they think we can win with fuqin 3 stars at a high level. Some of u guys deserve Randy Golden and Richt. **** is laughable, theres no proof a roster full of three stars are elite and playing for titles. none whatsoever

they dont get it. TC and Sutrain didnt come here because richt was coach. they werent the only ones. people are not impressed by the program he runs and the open talk in so fla is this is his retirement gig. semi retired and chilling in paradise. we dont even have a professional staff. butch has a way more experienced staff at FIU lol

the ranking swerent as accurate thats why, im saying now they are. We were getting top heavy without knowing cause Butch was the only guy with a brain that knew whta he was getting. No one else did, I bet Bowden chased his recruits to no end because he knew after awhile holy **** Butch is getting ballers i will pay attention to his offers now.

Thats why it was a question, learn how to read and comprehend. Based off your comment, I could make and educated guess that you thought Social media has not change over there years and that the use of social media hasn't changed over the past decade in a half. U cant help these people they have forgotten what Miami looks like, when I watched miami growing up I saw what I see in Bama in UGA in Clemson. THATS HOW WE LOOKED AND THATS HOW WE PLAYED AND THATS HOW PLAYERS GOT INTO THE FIRST ROUND.

Been watching the Canes in '89. We look far different from those teams. As you've said, we haven't adapted, and now we're playing catchup.

It all starts at the AD and HC level, and permeates its way down to the rest of the team. Someone on the board needs to have something click and says we need to do something different that we haven't done in the last 15 years.

Exactly. They act like they can’t see the talent gap between a Gerald Willis and tyreic Martin. Like you said recruiting is waaaaaay bigger now than it was so it’s not many slipping thru cracks no more.
 
this board is fried. they will bash butch to death and then sit here and say he got 3 stars and cherry picked 5 stars from cali, louisana etc. which was is it? the guy sucked or the guy was a great recruiter and developer?

No one is saying you need 3 stars to win at an elite level. My argument is Miami never recruited like Clemson or Bama. NEVER! Butch made phenomenal evaluations and convinced many kids to come despite the elite kids going to FSU and Florida at that time. I agree that Top 10 classes are crucial to compete.

After Willis its str8 garbage, Nest is good but lets not put the weight of the world on his shoulders he was a 4 star and bama wasnt throwing bags at him, and they are the standard of DT evals in CFB for the past 10 years. Pay attention people, Willis was a 5 star everyone was after and he didnt even choose us ask him why.

U have people here pumping up some Miller kid who no one heard of ever. talking about hidden gem GTFOH

Yea its more accurate but it was also butch being a good evaluator. You don't think the sec schools knew about ed reed? They just didn't see what butch saw.

I agree Butch was the best eye period end of story, he was great closing too when he had u he had u. Bowden a great recruiter himself said he was no match for Butch, im saying the times has helped the SEC more and hurt Miami more.

What has hurt miami is losing and having a admin that didn't give a shît about the program. Those sec schools are all about their teams.
