OL don't tend to be vocal leader types - last year's group was no exception - mostly quiet dude on the field. I imagine this year's OL will be similar. Where you need those types of roles is on defense. I think Moten is that dude and so is Toure. Not sure about the DB room.

My worry is inexperience at OL.

lofty expectations however it’s only right that this should be the expectation. We averaged 42.9 ppg in 2024 and we have a better defense and a better offense in its totality.

I’d like to see us score 700+ points (only been done by 3 teams before) and at least a field goal per game improvement from ‘24 i.e. 45.9 or higher. Green and Orange shades on, I think we can be a touchdown and a field goal better than 2024 (52.9+ ppg).

Jokester/trash talked is interchangeable imo for what we're talking about. Disagree with FM - he was always a quiet guy, many of his teammates admitted as much. Like I said, if you're looking for a vocal leader, OL is typically not where you'll find one.

Gotta remember that rule changes are making it tougher to score as many points since the game is shorter. I don’t think we’ll ever see some of those types of numbers ever again tbh, rate statistics are going to be a better benchmark

Ahhh yeah i completely forgot about that; good looking out.

We were at .591 points per play on 72.7 plays per game in 2024; so that’s about where our benchmark is with the rule changes having been implemented prior to the 2023 season; which decreased total number of plays per game by about 5. In 2024, we averaged 3.83 points per offensive drive which was best in the country. Last year, we were at 2.7 points per offensive drive which was 28th in the country.

In 2023, Oregon (4.3) and LSU (4.01) were top 2. In 2025, North Texas finished first at 3.79.

The top 5 in 2019 were Alabama (4.12), LSU, (4.10), Ohio State (3.81), OU (3.58) and Clemson (3.45). LSU averaged 8.44 yards per offensive play and Alabama averaged 8.05 yards per offensive play.

On yards per offensive play, ‘24 Miami was at 7.32 (1st) and ‘25 Miami was at 5.83 (54th).
