McMurphy has UM ranked #4

Funny. Last 20 years rankings come out and we ***** and moan about getting no respect and all the teams we should be ahead of. This year rankings come out and we ***** and moan about being ranked too high and the writers drinking the Kool-aid.


But wtf #4 is way too ******* high

If I had to rank Miami… I’d say they’re a fringe top 25 team. I’d put them at 23, mostly to set up a ranked matchup with A&M.

Obviously there is talent there, but there have been no results, for the most part, since 2017

I definitely expect a very good improvement from the defense and special teams. But no doubt we'll go as far as Gattis, TVD, and the o line can take us.

My opinion is we definitely need things to go our way like limited injuries, TVD performing at the high end of his range, having good turnover ratios, etc. But Its not like we need a **** load of luck to reach that level either. Like I think it's Possible to be top 5 even with 2 loses. If we lose to only A&M and Clemson then beat Clemson in championship game, we WILL be ranked high. And it's not like any other opponent will have any clear talent or coaching advantage over us... Ultimately it's just yr 1, so expectations shouldn't be super high, but the ceiling isn't exactly low either.

True, but that was after going 10-0. This guy is picking the Canes to finish 4th without seeing them playing a single game under a new coaching staff.

I feel you, but I dont think anyone had us going 10-0 before that year also.

Do I think we get that high, no. All im saying is if Richt could get that team to #2, its a punchers chance Mario could get this team to #4 with the staff he has brought in and everything aligns correctly. This site has been hollering for years that we should be winning the coastal compared to the other teams we play. Besides Clemson and T A&M, I feel confident against any other team on our schedule.
