Maybe pump the brakes a bit until after Clemmy...

The fact that we have an offense that puts up points almost at will. The last time we faced them Malik Rosier was our quarterback and we were coming off a loss to Pitt. Our attitude was not one of certainty at being that good, but rather one of surprise. Our best offensive performance that year was 52 points against Toledo. We only scored 41 against Bethune. Also, our defense ran out of steam toward the end of the season allowing 28 and 24 points against Virgina and Pitt, respectively.

So better offense, defense and special teams than 2017 means this is a very winnable game.
I can admit undoubtedly our punting game is better but we had Badgley that year so kicking wasn't an issue. I'm not sold that Pope can field a punt and we haven't seen lot of kick returns. Offense is better not up for discussion. But I'm not sold on our defense especially linebackers and corners. Lawrence and Etienne are better than Kelly Bryant and Feaster but I do remain optimistic.

I think any reasonable fan knows that we'll learn a lot about how good we are in a couple weeks at Clemson.

I also think that any reasonable fan can already see that we are pretty **** good--good enough to merit some celebration considering the dog**** we have enured for way too long.

I am as pumped as anyone about our team this year, but I am still riding the brake pedal a bit until after Clemson. Win or lose, it will be the measuring stick we are looking for. We have beaten teams that have an overall 4-5 record and 3 of those wins are by UAB!!
Now, we have beat the brakes off them so that is a positive.
I think we can score quite a bit on Clemson, but can our D hold up and hold them to less than we score. Our LB'ers and Secondary better be up to the task because they will have their hands full.
Why not us, baby?????
Biggest test for our O and our D coordinators. Manny’s biggest test thus far of his short head coaching career.

All I see is that my squad has improved a great deal during the off-season. We were outright losing to ****** teams last year and now we are blowing them out. Win or lose against Clemson, I don’t think we lose another game this year. So my bad for being happy!!!!
this is where I am at. What happens at Clemson is really not important as long as we don't lose 45-3. We fight and give them a decent game that bolds very well.

Well said, I'm just enjoying watching Miami football again

They're just trying to hedge against being wrong, so many of these so called "rational" fans talk from both sides of their mouth in order to temper expectations. They don't seem to understand that taking a wait & see approach towards the team that you're supposedly a fan of means that you're not actually a real fan. That's what fair weather fans and pundits who work in the media do. Fandom & Ambivalence are diametrically opposed to one another.

If you harbor lukewarm feelings about your team, or are unsure about whether or not they can win, then maybe you should get a new team. It's really as simple as that. That's a much better option than being a fake fan, or spreading negativity & toxicity 24/7 on your teams primary message board

Miami fans are their own worst enemy.

Sky was falling and everything was a disaster at 6-7 last year—fire Diaz, et al—and now at 3-0 with some wins against average and below average teams, everyone is screaming about beating Clemson. Godforbid the Canes don't, all **** breaks loose and they're on the warpath again.

Same thing in 2017; eked out a bunch of close conference wins, caught overrated Notre Dame on a bad night of the Irish in South Florida and it was a ton of "we back"—before getting to 10-0 with a comeback against Virginia and then losing three straight, to a four-win Pittsburgh team, throttled by Clemson and out-toughed by Wisky in the bowl game.

King and Lashlee are making this a special year, but don't mistake putting up a lot points again Swiss Cheese defenses in Louisville and slow-as-molasses Florida State with Miami hanging with the bigs consistently. Can the Canes upset Clemson in a partially full Death Valley in this weird pandemic year? Sure, but 2021 will be a completely different animal once King is gone.

A ridiculous lack of depth at CB, DT still needs some help, only one dependable WR and the OL is looking better than average because of such an elusive veteran quarterback.

Take this year for what it is, enjoy the ride and pray it pays dividends with recruiting. A King-less Miami looks different next year, so make the most of this one and don't lose your **** like typical Canes maniacs when there's a slight backsliding in 2021.
Yeah, you tripping!

The Virginia game that year made me sit back and chill a bit.... I was excited about the comeback... But, it shouldn't have been a comeback. Shouldn't have been close

Personally, Ive thoroughly enjoyed what Ive seen the first 3 games, and Im reveling in destroying FSU --- and the four game streak vs the Noles -- I'm going to enjoy this to the hilt. It's been painful enough being a UM fan the past decade or so.

If we get hammered by Clemson next week, we can discuss it then

But right now, I'm riding the wave...

Its 2020, man.

This year has low key sucked. We can get back to the hot takes later. Just enjoy this **** while it lasts. We haven't had too much time to feel like this over the past 15 years...so while we got it, gotta embrace it or you're just a miserable ****.

We're in a New Incognito Window for this season. We'll go back to arguing about this team later.

Maybe just be a fan and enjoy the moments. We've had enough languishing and hand-wringing. Live your life and quit worrying about what bad might come later.
I hear ya, Franchise. I am enjoying it, trust me. Just that little motherfacker in the back of my head saying, "Pump the brakes for 2 more weeks". Can't get him out of there. You know how it is.
