I haven't heard any of you talking about the Thursday night home game against UNC.

That, in my opinion, will be our toughest divisional game. I place it over VPI. I believe both games are the true test to our playoff hopes.

UNC should bring back a load of depth and experience and will feel as if they left a game on the field the last time they played us. I cant help but to think that all those injuries they faced last season was somewhat of a blessing in disguise and they make come back strong as **** with a lot of good depth due to experience.

Thoughts?

Going on the road to play what is a preseason Top 20 VT team, likely a night game in chilly weather is almost certainly more difficult.

UNC should be better than last year, but last year was our worst regular season game outside of Pitt. Plus its a short week for both of us, but they have to travel, which is a major disadvantage, as we learned in 2016.

And yes they return a bunch, but they still don't have anything at QB. When they've beaten us in recent years, its because they had studs there in Williams and Trubisky.

Imo LSU, FSU, @VT, and @BC are all tougher. Maybe @GT too

I do think its the biggest "trap" game though with FSU the following week

We are at home on a Thursday night against UNC, c'mon man. Should not be a problem.
I see LSU as the toughest challenge and then a couple others. Virginia at their place after FSU is a huge trap game and BC is going to be tough up in Walnut Hill.

Facts!! Although I don’t think FSU will ever be a “trap” game for us. Both coaches will get their team up for that game every year. Folden never beat them but even then the games were close.

UNC at home on a Thursday night.

They’re going to come in chippy thinking they should have bested us last time.

We’re going to remember a couple of the late hits and so forth from last year.

Rick pretty much hates Fedora and I don’t think he hides it real well. Our staph also thinks they cheat and steal signs. We don’t respect them at all.

The game will be testy.

I think it’s going to be a fun Thursday night game and they keep it relatively close for a couple of quarters on emotion and then we pull away.

For some reason, as the years have passed, I’ve started to hate Carolina more and more to the point I’d like to see a brawl where we totally push their shlt in. (Yea, I know it’s not practical, but I’m starting to really hate them).

Mark Richt will not forget this. We're running up the score on those clowns. 52-6

I agree with most of your post, but why do you think they’ll keep it close for a couple of quarters based on emotion? If anything, a Thursday night game in Hard Rock will have our boys pretty jacked. I would guess the emotional edge would be on our side. Just my 2 cents.

No particular reason, I have no great strength of conviction in saying they would keep it close at first. We could just as likely come out fast and blow the doors off. I was just thinking it might take a quarter or so to build up the hate level. Unlike ND, when we came out with thruster packs attached and at full throttle.

We'll have to see how many of our players are suspended following the game 5 days earlier against FIU. Bad scheduling imo.

Was it UNC that started the whole Upside down U?

I just want to see the O Line take the next step and play nasty. If we get a bump in O Line play and the same ole Rosey...we blow the doors off this team.
