May have best D-Line in the country next year

Everyone ****ed and moaned for years about how donofrio wasted all of our talent. Top 5 combination of DL talent, experience, and depth of talent combined with the best DL coach in college football and an aggressive downhill scheme should translate to elite DL play.

You can't sit there crying about the coaching and scheme for 5 years, completely overhaul both and then soft sell what our DL should do. You soft sellers are dramatically underestimating the significance of Kuligowski and a downhill approach.

So 1 offseason are going to 100% turn these guys into studs? There is some middle ground and you should probably locate it. I haven't seen you pull this off lately though. I'm optimistic there will be improvement...hopefully drastic. You guys are looking for Jesus himself to fall from the sky and perform miracles.

When you're saying top 5 talent I don't see what you're alluding to...

One 5* DE, some 3* DTs, and 3/4* DEs doesn't equate to top 5 talent on the line.

Edit: Forgot Willis...still not top 5. Especially if you factor in their actual collegiate performances, or lackthereof.

If Jenkins gets his grade issue corrected he will start! He will have an all American season next year when asked to get after the QB instead of hold the LOS

This brings me to my next point: Don't Smoke Crack

LOL. Getting the excuse machine oiled up? The talent depth and maturity is unquestionable. Past results are meaningless because they were coached by buffoons in a system that completely minimizes the production of the DL.

The players don't have to improve their talent. You can try to poo poo the talent on the DL by saying we only have 2 five stars and several 4 stars, but that just sounds retarded. They just need to improve their technique (luckily we hired the best DL coach in college to do just that, and he has 8 months to teach) and be put in a position schematically that lets them eat (luckily Richt just told the world we're going to be an aggressive 4-3 defense).

We have the potential. But that's rarely been an issue in Coral Gables.

"Can we coach these athletes?", has usually been the issue.

Don't you get it? Claim the (insert unit here) will be top 5 next year. (Unit) is top 5, yippee...you called it you genius. (Unit) isn't top 5, coach/scheme is the worst for squandering talent.

Simples.

Just being realistic. No excuses. Is it beyond the realm of possibility that these kids were evaluated incorrectly in high school? That never happens. The "talent depth and maturity" is absolutely questionable! To say that "past results are meaningless" is laughable. That's an idiotic explanation. I'm sure Richt and coach Kool took all the DL gametape and lit it on fire...

Gerald Willis has looked really ******* mature hasn't he...God this sounds stupid.

Get the **** outta here...

I'm not saying they won't be improved...like I previously said they certainly will be. Pump the brakes though...holy ****.

I'll gladly take best D-Line.....in the ACC. If we have the best D-line in the country within the next 3 years then we need to start paying Kuligowski with blank checks.

There is a lot of talent on the line. They need to have big off-seasons in the weight room and working on their technique
with Coach Kool. The new system will allow them to attack and make plays in the backfield. The Sacks, QB Hurries and
TFL's will be up. I would aim to be a top 10 D-Line next year.

It'll take two to three years under Kool to get best in country results but there is certainly talent there. We only had 66 TFL this year.

Good news is under Diaz, Mississippi state had 98 TFL and was ranked 12th in that department. Cool and Diaz scheme will help these four dramatically
