The fact that we may not know what is truly "going on" should not prevent us from making our views known about candidates that we or others think make sense. Say what you want, but it was the fan pressure that got Golden fired. They are listening.

Locked down tight. All info that people have is coming from outsiders who they can't lock down. That's how we are most likely to find out when this is done.
 
UM is actually great at keeping secrets. Horrible at pretty much everything else, but they're **** good at keeping secrets.

It would be absurd if they only interviewed former UM coaches and players. They have to be considering some candidates from the outside, right? Mullen and Strong are the only two names I've heard as possibilities who have no previous ties to the university, and it's unclear if either of them are actual candidates.
 
Wild guess at the percentages...

40% Richt
30% Butch
10% Chimp
10% Fedora or Mullen
10% the rest of the field.
 
Richt didn't sound like he was very excited to do recruiting, but he did act like he was going to coach again. Just not sure he will be ready to go in the next week or so.

Richt had the #1 QB in the nation, Jacob Eason from Washington committed to UGA. His recruiting has been fine at UGA. The day after the Florida game, he went to Seattle to meet with Eason in an unplanned, unexpected 6 hour visit. He still can, and still will recruit.
 
The final list should be Butch Vs Richt, and you have to go with Richt if he wants the job, but the Admin cannot get in the way of his success. Pay him what he needs and pay his staff what they need. But that's if we are serious about becoming elite. If Butch is the hire, you do the same. It's more about investing in a program that's been neglected for 15 years under Donna

Yeah, I distinctly remember hearing that it was down to Golden, Trestman, and Edsall as the finalists before they eventually hired Golden. I feel like we really do not know anything this time around. The post Coker search was a little more secretive but that's because it was all a sham. Donna took it upon herself to give Randy the job.

You're hearing the same sort of speculation this time too. We keep hearing the same 4 or 5 names from everyone regardless of whether those are the actual targets/candidates.
