There are very few coaches who are Meyer or Saban.

However, what has he done, or not done, that leads you to that conclusion?

Unless you're driven to climb the ladder, there's no reason to leave a school where expectations are manageable and you can stay long term.

Look at how Ferentz is treated at Iowa, and they've never truly been an elite program under him. You win 9 games per year at Iowa State for a decade, you'll have a statue in front of the stadium. Some guys are good with that.

Could you imagine Ferentz coaching up these south Florida ballers. I think hes a dam solid coach.

winning at toledo isn't a good measure of a coach since they're almost always an upper-tier mac team. they haven't been consistently bad since the 70s.

Edit: they'll be broke as ****, but they'll have a better coach so depends on your point of view I guess.

he likes it in ames, as does his family. dude isn't going anywhere. some coaches want to move up and enjoy the pressure of a stressful job, others want to make a great living without being in an environment where every loss will have the fan base calling for your head. campbell is the latter.

He may like it in Ames. But he's going to the NFL or the next major Big 10 opening.

He went 7-5 two of the last 3 years with the other season winning 8 Games. He has a 26-24 record at Iowa State. He rarely wins big games either. I get that Iowa State was nothing before he got there but he turned them into a 7 win a year team. Is that really that impressive?

Yes, he should have Iowa State playing for the conference title consistently. Their history has been very impressive. One that he has apparently destroyed.
