Signed an extension with Iowa State until 2025. Turned down the FSU job

It's a **** good thing for us he didn't go to FSUSigned an extension with Iowa State until 2025. Turned down the FSU job![]()
I think he's a bit overrated but he would have been a solid hire for them regardless. I'm guessing they go with Mike Norvell whose a worse version of Justin Fuente. It seems it's not difficult to win at Memphis either. It's a **** good thing for us he didn't go to FSU

Can't blame him either, we've seen how many times guys have jumped up to bigger programs where the stakes and pressure are much higher and they're not able to deliver. You might get that big pay raise but he's still gonna make millions there so it really might be best long run.Campbell isn't leaving unless it's for the NFL. He knows he can be a legend in Ames, and not have to sniff a national title. Look at how Ferentz is treated at Iowa, and they've never truly been an elite program under him. You win 9 games per year at Iowa State for a decade, you'll have a statue in front of the stadium. Some guys are good with that.
People just make him out to be some elite HC. I think he's a serviceable quality HC who can get 9 wins out of a 7-8 Win roster. I do no not think he can turn a team into a powerhouse like a Urban Meyer or Nick SabanHe has posted winning records at both Toledo and Iowa ST......why do you think he is overrated?
Is Norvell to Fuente what Rhule is to Golden? Hope not.
Rhule is a **** good coach and significantly better than Golden despite working in his shadow while at Temple.
Is Norvell Fuente's Matt Rhule?
He's staying in his lane. Smart move.Signed an extension with Iowa State until 2025. Turned down the FSU job![]()
Norvell never worked under Fuente like Rhule did to Golden. He replaced him.
If you're talking about surpassing the guy in his next program whom he succeeded in his prior program, then I predict Norvell at (FSU? whomever) will likely surpass the job Fuente is doing at VT.
Norvell at FSU would mean:
1) Year 1 immediate improvement to probably 8-9 wins
2) Year 2 onwards: 10 plus wins a year.
And we'd be stuck with a coach more concerned about jewelry and sideline dancing than success on the field, ****
