More needless deaths that should have been avoided...

Colorado's red flag gun law reportedly should have been triggered against the Colorado Springs shooting suspect, but law enforcement and family failed to do so.
Anderson Lee Aldrich was arrested in June 2021 for threatening to harm his mother with a homemade bomb and other weapons, according to a report by the Associated Press. Prosecutors did not pursue any charges against Aldrich in the case.

I’m guessing he’s talking about weekly Chicago shootings and murders which don’t make headlines in MSM … but one off shootings in businesses/schools/etc do.

I’m sure u knew that… and I get why media does that and avoids “normal mass murders”. But I also get his point that more should be done to talk about big city crime… cause a lot of people have blinders on and don’t even know what’s going down in places like NYC, Chicago, LA, NO, etc
I'm aware of weekly Chicago shootings and murders, you're aware of Chicago shootings and murders, and he is aware of Chicago shootings and murders. Someone is telling us this information.

Yes, it is out there, even in MSM. Maybe not enough to your liking or conservative media, but it is reported on. We can have 2 problems at the same time - big city gun violence and more isolated incidents where multiple people are killed.

Show me some clips from CNN, MSNBC, or nightly national news on CBS, NBC, CBS from the past 6 months that cover the weekly Chicago shootings and murders

Yes, smart people know where to look… but a lot of people aren’t looking at multiple news outlets online and just watch tv. Many libs just watch liberal MSM and if stories don’t get play… they don’t know about them.

I bet of u randomly polled a thousand people and asked them if they have seen or heard stories of crime in Chicago lately, less than 25% would say yes. Fox covers it yes, but I am sure they don’t even cover it on a weekly or biweekly basis (although maybe they do i could be wrong)

Amongst many others you can find. Like you said, go look at multiple news outlets and not just what Fox and other conservative outlets tell you. Funny thing is once Election Day has passed, Fox's "crime coverage" has gone down 63%. Gee, I wonder why?

300 murders in Baltimore this year , people are complaining sidewalks are not being pressure cleaned after bodies are removed leaving rotting blood behind.

Good idea by the attorney to get out in front of this and head off a hate crime.

You are making the assumption that this is the first time this guy, or I should say “they”, used a nonbinary designation on himself. But we don’t know that.

Also, what difference does it make if this is classified as “hate“ crime or not to the defendant. You mean they might add 100 years to his 200 year sentence? Classifying this as a hate crime functionally has no difference on the outcome for him, either way. Just on the coverage and the political haymaking.

Congrats media on both sides. You've done it again. You've got the public arguing about whether the killer was a conservative or a liberal. Was he a conservative who hated ****? Does the fact he or they or whatever was "non-binary" show he was a liberal? Or maybe he was a self-hating "non-binary" person? The fact of the matter is there are deranged people out there who commit mass murder and it's not monopolized by one ideological side or the other.

Of course, the focus should be on how we minimize the number of these events and the number of deaths that occur at each one. IMO we should be more concerned with why the red flag law didn't work. Why did another wack job with a history of mental health issues have legal access to firearms? But hey, why do that when we can be distracted over whether he is one of "us" or one of "them"?

From your yahoo link…

In the lead-up to the midterms, Fox averaged 141 weekday violent crime segments per week from Labor Day through the Friday before the election. The two weeks prior to Election Day, those starting October 24 and October 31, featured the highest number of weekday violent crime segments of the period studied: 187 and 193 segments, respectively. That coverage dropped dramatically during the week of the election, which had just 71 weekday violent crime segments.
Sure it dropped but now how do I find the ABC, NBC, CBS, MSDNC, CNN stats of their weekly coverage? I’d like to see how close they come to what this article considers a low number of 71 WEEKLY violent crime segments!

But yeah they will bump them up for midterms. Why not? It’s the only MSM channel that stumps for Rs versus around 10 or so that stump for Ds. And crime is a big issue… it didn’t stop at midterms, but makes sense it dropped down probably to their normal average during non election times.

Just like abortion coverage on liberal media. I’m guessing those have dropped significantly, but not sure they keep that stat anywhere. Most likely they just like to keep track of Fox to nit pic them. I took a look at that “media matters” site and its just littered with Fox News and conservative hit pieces

They should fix the name to Liberal Media Matters
