Marques Gayot

Friend of his family. Kid will definitely grow into a 235lb guy no problem. Agree, he should be redshirted this offseason and lifting. He's to heavy footed for ss. He will crack heads...hard. I'm taking his mom and step dad to a few games this year (just giving a ride) and will update when I hear anything. she loves when he's mentioned.

Al Golden would have moved Sean Talyor to D-End.

this ******* staph doesnt know what to do with this type of talent. Its like those dumbasses that buy a 100K car and then put rims on it

Gayot told the coaches he was switching to LB, not the other way around. Oh, and any weight training was going to take his frame past the SS size

He should have red-shirted last year, and now they are wasting another one of his years plugging him into a hybrid role. The kid is a SS all the way, and should be coached up as such not bulked up to a be a 6'1" 216lbs linebacker which we have all agreed LB's under 230lbs can be a liability.

Go Canes

Except we are fairly deep at safety. If he can see the field quicker at LB this makes some sense.

Not to mention HE asked to move to LB. His High School coach said for 3 years he'd play LB in college. These "Hybrid's" are always great against fast teams that spread defenses out. I hope they just point him in the right direction and let him hit someone.

Gayot has looked good. He had a streak of three straight practices with a pick, and as you'd expect he looks smooth in coverage.

He's not as fast or as talented as Grace, but he's a similar type of player.

it's funny that this board spends so much time complaining about how miami doesn't play fast and aggressive like the old days and then can't decide whether it's good or bad that a big SS got moved to OLB

Between Owens, Grace and Gayot there's no excuse not to play cover 1. These kids are athletic enough to cover backs and TEs.

We already do. We played it a lot more last year than any other year.
