Williams didn't look terrible in the bowl game. But he also didn't look like he should after 4 years of S&C. I hoped he would make this his money year and get serious. Kid had the natural talent to be good. But you can't teach stupid.

After he couldn't even make the rotation last year, I looked at Williams as one of those guys you hope can take a step but never count on. Which is why most of the board including myself was screaming we needed more guys from the portal than just Poyser and Thomas.

Now we're counting on a true Freshman to be an AA, Isaiah Taylor to give us quality depth, and a converted LB/S hybrid in Pruitt. Pruitt's talented, maybe can be a Romeo Finley type for us. But we are crazy thin at S.

But Ray Ray I think the main reason he's staying is they genuinely think he's a good presence in the locker room. Dylan Day hasn't looked good and barely even played yesterday as well.

Smith started last year
BSmith got drafted because of SmU, no chance he plays at Miami like he did smu
Roberts got drafted yet couldn’t play at Miami
Harvey is playing
Knight started
Clarke starting

Jordan Miller - not sure

One thing is true, that coach can eval and get those kids in good places to impact the team.

With all due respect, we’re crushed by this now? And Lashlee is a legend after losing to Baylor last week and not having to play us last year and losing to Clemson in the ACC Championship.

If he was down and in his feelings and acting up due to getting passed up, you also dont want that energy in the locker room. We are making a run and dont need dudes undermining the focus. Im sure its why mario prob sent him away.
 
SMU boosters have invested big time into that program. They got lucky last year but Lashlee is a good coach and they’re going to stay relevant in the ACC for as long as the conference holds together. Can they survive the transition if it falls apart? That I’m not sure about. Hence Lashlee could be a flight risk unless they’ve got a fallback plan in place he can be certain will work.

Off the field stuff isn't great but it may be more correctable than quietly letting him leave as if he just doesn't have it.

Jared Harrison-Hunte was 1st team All-ACC at SMU and had a career year, Jakai Clark was All-ACC 2nd team at SMU, Jahfari Harvey started all games, led the team in TFL, had two FF, and blocked the game winning field goal against Duke.

When you add Roberts and Brashard Smith, who also 1st team All ACC at SMU, its clear that SMU was aided tremendously on their CFP run with the help of a lot of former Miami castoffs.

Knighton also led SMU in rushing yards in 2023 in a season they finished 11-3 and tied for the most rushing TDs scored. He only played in two games in 2024 before sitting for a season ending injury.

I'm here for the conversations amongst fans and enjoy it but at the same time, I see through a lot of the BS on here. Unlike you.

People like yourself are the clowns that'll spend $8 for a **** cup of coffee or $400 for a soft cooler to keep your ice cold for five days when you can get the same **** thing for much cheaper if you just use your brain and not buy into hype and ads. But those of us that use sense are acting "poor" by being fiscally responsible instead of bending over to greedy people.
