Markel Bell

IMHO, SJ will get the opportunity to play next year. The coaches currently bring SJ in the game for short yardage and other special packages. Cristobal and Mirabal did the same thing with Cooper when he was a freshman. I think the coaches are prepping SJ for a starting role next season, and the logical position is center

I have already said, I only see Brock and SiSi leaving on the OL now. Brock is out of eligibility. We have to get better at run blocking. Bell is not a good run blocker, but his pass blocking is good enough to keep him for sure. He did have the highest run blocking grade for our OL against Stanford. I would bring in another C and G transfer.

I don’t see it with SJ right now he looks really small.

THE O-LINE WAS ABSOLUTELY SOLID THIS YEAR BUT THAT MATTRESS BECK KEPT STRAPPED TO HIS BACK ALL SEASON WOULD’VE CUSHIONED ANY BLINDSIDE HIT…
MAN!! I hated all that puss ahs sliding he’s done all season! Did the slowest spin move I’ve ever seen yesterday as well!

I hope so. But tbh I’m a little worried he’ll be in the same boat as Brockermeyer as a smallish center who hasn’t always fit what our run game.

And all three guys would do well to stay, financially and in terms of stock.

Fletcher to me seems like a no brainer to stay. Injury history and his game doesn’t translate as well to the NFL

Bell took a big step up this year, probably could go rounds 3-5 right now. I think another year under his belt with more development and he’s a 1st round pick. Let’s see if Mario can retain him

Moten has flashed the last two games but hasn’t put together a full season. Does he even get drafted right now? He def needs another year IMO, and I think it could be a big one if he stays.

Yeah the value in being a 4th round pick v another year of college has tipped to college because of NIL.
100% and a guy like Moten can get the same and try to work himself into a much more favorable draft pick that has more assurance he'll stick on a roster a couple of years. But lately we don't do well with these decisions.
