Mark Walton Declares For The Draft

Not surprised. The shelf life of a RB is short and he needs to cash in. This is not a Joe Yearby situation - Walton will be drafted and on an NFL roster next year.

Well ****. Not entirely surprising but I was holding out hope that he would consider coming back to win a national championship.

Hope he runs fast at the combine. Otherwise it's hard to get a good sense of his role up in the league and why a team would invest a higher pick. But he'd have to split carries coming back so I'm not sure he'd gain much.

Thought he'd come back.

I really hope this is the right choice for him.

I don't see him higher than a round 5-6 guy. He isn't even listed in the top 20 for RB prospects in this years draft.

Like I said, I hope it works out.

Just hope he's healthy enough for the combine and pro day. If he is, he'll be drafted.

He wasn't going to get any better playing at Miami next year and with as well as Homer has played and the number of guys coming in next year he would've probably seen fewer carries. What the decision really comes down to is, 'would another year at Miami clearly help his draft stock?'. If the answer isn't clearly yes, then go pro.

Should have come back. I don't usually advocate for doing so but... Given his size & injury he will be lucky to go 3rd Round. Probably 4th-6th unless he blows it up at the combine. Could have broke records, won a ship, been in Heisman talk and got into the 1st or 2nd round next year.

Very deep running back crop this year. But not surprised. Our tossup guys typically leave and no reason to expect that to change.

Happy for him. Worked his *** off here, was a leader. I don't think he's a guy who would have played his way into the 1st or 2nd round with a big senior campaign, or at least wasn't likely enough to versus risking further injury. I bet he goes round 4, the talent is there.
