It wouldn’t surprise me if they promoted Patke to Head Coach since he was the real “mastermind” of Diaz’s defense after all

I'd rather have Sheryl Swoopes. This would be one step above hiring Jay Gruden.

Wouldn’t surprise me in the least.
I’m mentally prepared for the Banda Patke CO/HC announcement after a 1/2 hour “national” search.
Also prepare for the Shannon second chance announcement.

Although a terrible fvcken idea, you have to admit my remarks that Flake and the BOT promote Patke to HC is radically innovative and different. From GA to HC in 1 season, now that’s different.

At least you said something. I love all these people saying let’s do something radical, let’s do something different, but they have no earthly idea what that looks like. Or how to do it.

He’d have the backing of Ed Reed just like Coker did. Who gives a fck? Hire a guy who can put pints on the board and reenergize this dead program.

He's not an offensive coach tho, unlike Richt that had a target on his back the last 6-7 yrs of his career,....which goes right back to hiring. Who would he hire if he were HC here is the real question.

We could probably draw a better OC than Kentucky.

No thanks. We need an IMMEDIATE boost. And we’ll get that with a proven offensive innovator.

This would be a solid hire. Doubt it’ll hype up the fan base but he’s a solid football coach.

Only way this would be a palatable hire is if we get Neal Brown to be OC. From the Stoops coaching tree, makes only 800K/yr as HC, would be a downgrade of course but you pay him 1 mil/yr minimum and would bring that fire we need on offense.

Otherwise, would be an uninspiring hire.

Why is it we can't just relax let the process work itself out and allow the new hc the luxury of coaching one season here before we label him a loser.
