You hire a head coach to win football games and Richt knows how to do that very well.

The man has won 74% of his games with average at best assistants (your words) and consistently finished in the top 25 while playing in the most difficult conference in college football.

His career winning percentage should increase as the ACC is not the SEC and he is going back to calling plays.

Some of you act like we have a first time head coach (Coker and Randy) or complete bozo (Golden) leading our team.

I could care less if he hires Mickey Mouse to be the OC and DBC to be the DC as long as we are winning 80+% of our games.


This is not about blind trust; it is about focusing on what matters (winning football games not developing the best coaching staff on paper) and using common sense (Richt knows how to win football games).

Hiring great assistants helps you win big games and National Championships. It's extremely important and up to this point has been a flaw in Richt's resume. I hope he kills these hires and he is motivated again but there is some cause for concern and seems like a valid discussion to have.

NCs should be the goal at Miami and is my expectation (not that it means anything).

Oh, no no no you don't. I didn't ask why couldn't Butch win "it", I asked why Butch couldn't win. Period. Third place in the Coastal? Over and over? LMAO.

If your standards for hiring a new coach included the requirement of having won "it", you wouldn't be making a joke of yourself by pushing for Butch Freaking Davis.

Whoever he is, he's a Golden lover. He's a lover of anyone in the Hecht really.

It's why he's come out full force once people started raising minor, but legitimate, questions about what prevented Richt from taking the next step.

You see for me, I want Richt to learn from his mistakes, thus allowing him to take the next step and win us a ring. I think it's healthy as a fanbase to want Coach Richt to be better than he was, instead of glossing over his warts and hoping that the magic of the spirit of the Orange Bowl will take care of it all.
