2027 Mark Matthews 5* OL from STA

at best, this kid makes his commitment before STA season in August. But wouldn’t surprise me if this kid takes it to end of cycle. I get it from business, as it keeps schools to continue to expand the money, but it does hurt the momentum a little. After Linnear and Izzy, if we land Matthews and flip Jacobs, the motion would be crazy for Miami in recruiting buzz. The dominos would fall real fast

The dominos fall sooner than later because of NIL. Sure players like Matthews will always have their bag available but by the time ESD rolls around and you still arent committed, a bunch of money is no longer there - its always a finite amount. The time to negotiate is now through the summer, and we are seeing kids commit earlier because of that.

He would have enjoyed our spring game more it was a spectacle

No program hosted as many blue-chip recruits this spring than Texas A&M. Over the last month it seemed like Mike Elko and the Aggies hosted nearly every elite player in the 2027 and 2028 classes.

It was no different for this weekend’s spring game with the headliner being Rivals No. 1 rated offensive tackle Mark Matthews.

The Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas five-star was making his second visit of the spring and to say it’s going well would be an understatement. Matthews was still in Aggieland Sunday morning after arriving late Wednesday night. Miami may be the Rivals Prediction Machine favorite, but they have their hands full with Texas A&M and No. 3 overall prospect in America could end up in a 2027 class that Rivals already ranks No. 1 nationally.

I always worry about Texas Oil Money. I am never comfortable going against Texas and Texas A&M.

They can basically pull a Dodgers on you. I am sure they are telling Matthews that Cantwell is the LT for next 3 years also, using that to negatively recruit us.

But make no mistake, College Station is a dump compared to South Florida, and it's very weird.

And our rebuttal is stay home and be the RT for 3 years teaming up with Jackson while pregnant cuck Elko cries in his chair

We have such a good system to sell. TAMU also a solid place, I just hope hometown wins out here. I know we are loaded with younger tackles but if we can get Irvin or Congdon to be a guard that really opens up a spot for Mathews to come in and compete.

As of now Congdon is a guard, and Irvin is likely a guard also. Of course Mirabal likes cross-training his guys all across the line so can't preclude him ending up as an OT.

8-4 currently has two top 100 OTs committed at the moment and they aren’t exactly devoid of talent along the OL so as talented as Matthews is he isn’t guaranteed a starting job the second he steps on campus here nor there. Ultimately we got, the home field advantage, great coaching and track record plus we are some weird **** like they are in College Station.

Mann you got that right! Elko needs to stay away from those steakhouses. Please fine Jennie Craig badly and quick before you bust.

I'm actually surprised he hasn't committed by now. Hometown..really good NIL..and the best development in the country at his position.

My question is: do you experts and/or the coaches see Mark Matthews as the same kind of impact player as they saw Mauigoa and Cantwell? Basically a guaranteed starter as a true freshman? Because if they do, then they'd be willing to outbid anybody for him. We've proven that.

But if they don't, then there's probably a budget for him and our offer may be beatable.

We gotta break that SFL curse and keep the elite dudes home, can't lose this kid to ATM. Outside of money, what else does ATM have over Miami? Stadium? We beat them that 100k aint mean a **** thing. SEC? Cmon we would body them mfs from top to bottom.

I don’t think any A&M fans think they’re getting him.

Just hoping his management is using a bag school to make sure he gets best compensation possible so he can sign with the home team..

Another reason why to believe if they get Mark Matthews, odds are we get Olu Olu. & vice versa.

Lamont Rogers redshirted for them last year and he was a 5 star on 247 & 38th in the composite. He’ll probably be a bookend in 2027….there’s no guarantee he will ever start this year because 8-4 brought in starters from LSU and Alabama. He may beat out Adams however that is an unknown at this point. Both transfer tackles will have the option to return in 2027
