Recruiting losses will happen and this one would sting bad but the best way to forget about them is to replace them with players equally good or better. In this case we wont find a better Tackle this cycle but we can take that money and apply it elsewhere. For me I believe the expectation should be the best class on paper in the Mario era.

Perception would be the most damaging “loss” here.

He’s elite and like any elite prospect he’s needed.

If we don’t get him, we’ll be better than okay both with options on the team and options we will pursue in his place. OL
WANT to be here. Those that land here will have elite coaching.

This isn’t copium. It’s reality.

With that said, get him.

I trust the staff as they have earned it with the OL but that doesnt mean I wont still call it how I see it. We need a strong OL class, we have some good talent but we arent exactly stacked there. Given the style of ball Mario wants to play, its more than just perception. Do I think we can overcome and even pivot to something comprable? Absolutely. Now that all said, we have the most momentum this program, we need to be landing players like Matthews. Im still in the camp that we will.

Completely agree that the expectation is the best class Mario has pulled coming off some great momentum with on field success, high draft picks, and great exciting schemes we run on both sides

Yet at the end of the day we aren’t the dodgers with some unlimited NIL war chest and sometimes your gonna get out bid at a number you can’t justify… I hope we don’t lose him but if the money is too good it be what it be… move to the next one and puts more pressure on the coaching to maximize the best out of what they get.. which thankfully we have an elite Oline coach on staff

And around the 8:45 mark, a follower made the comment that Miami would have been 8-4 with Will Howard as our quarterback instead of Cam Ward. Ariz disagreed and said we would have won a few more games with Howard (implying instead of Ward). We went 10-2 with Ward in ‘24 regular season. There is a WAAAAY better argument you could make that without Cam, we would have lost to GT, SYR, VT, UL, and Cal.

Then D$ and Ariz have a back and forth about who Dawson wanted more, Cam or Howard and Ariz again picked against Ward. And D$ mentioned how we are glad we got Ward looking back and Ariz again disagreed because Howard won a title and Ward didn’t. And then Ariz said we need to hold off with the Ward vs Howard debate until Howard gets some NFL games under his belt.

This is just stupid. I bet you can’t find one person who would take Will Howard over Cam Ward right now. Just plain stupid.

"INSIDE SOURCES" aren't always as inside as you may believe. By the way Cam was someone we were all on the same page the season before about... Whatever the **** howard may become as a pro has ZERO to do with what he could've done for us at the University of Miami. Buddy was so used to sabotaging us at udfamanagement that he forgot what it is to be a team player

Someone needs to show him film of TAM's OL against us and ask him if he feels he will get developed there.

Never know what these kids are truly thinking. They are impressionable. Money getting tossed around like fun coupons. Get them on campus with other guys it can snowball.

I’d still lean heavily towards Mario. But I’m the furthest thing from an insider. Just basing it on Mario’s approach to the bluest of blue chip OL recruits. He sees the one he wants he tends to get them.
