2027 Mark Matthews 5* OL from STA Commits to TAMU

Mario shut me up after what he did last year. Since the Ga Tech disaster in 2023 I thought that was it for him. With that being said I’m going to hold judgement until these guys are signed sealed and delivered. Just look at what happened with Justin Scott.

Whining aside, this board does what every other board does. You haven’t been here on CIS for long but have you seen the years of excuses and hate from the gator and Nole fans in the gator and Nole tears threads when they whiff? These kids aren’t choosing one over the other because the fans whine less. He’s making a money decision based on a big bag. It’s money first most of the time these days.

We saved money on Cook to get Mathews. We value trenches and can put any temu RB back there for results, thats what I was told.. He will get paid whatever is needed..

As far as Abrams, high school QB numbers are down massively. Nowhere near what they used to be. I am fine with Abrams.

Optics are a bit like sunk cost fallacy.

You know what’s good optics and all that matters? Winning and landing top players. The optics of where the lose players come from is irrelevant long term.

I’ll do the same seriously, I just don’t like how kids play us .I get very defensive passionate for Miami , having so much history with Miami growing up with Coach Jack Hardings and Chickillo’s families this is just a taste such a long distinguished growing up I had

This new era of recruiting is a challenge for me , hate how it’s now NFL , agents negotiatiors influencers for 17 year old

I get what you mean especially for the old school folks. I’m 33 and I hate what college sports has become with the portal, NIL, etc. I miss when guys rarely transferred, had to sit out a year, and when people got paid under the table. Now you have 25 year olds on their 4th school in 6 years making 7 figures. It’s ridiculous.
 
Still to early to get upset but this was supposed to be a #1 class type of year and if we miss on Matthews that will be whiffs on

Mark Matthews
DJ Jacobs
Myron Johnson Cook
Jaiden Bryant

Luckily there is still plenty of time left
 
I'll say what I've thought this whole time.

If Mario/Mirabel see Matthews like they did Cantwell/Mauigoa, as a day 1 starter, then Matthews will be at Miami because we'll pay whatever it takes and we have everything else.

If they don't see him as a locked in day 1 starter, then he's not worth what Mauigoa/Cantwell cost and I'm sure A&M will pay him that either way.

I'd say it's close or the latter

I believe great, or ****…Even good coaches know more about both overall talent and team fit then Witting and these dudes…And honestly I believe that 100 is probably like 250-300.

I concur though lol…Let's just do both or however you want to call it.
 
It sucks. But just another example of soflo kids being wishy washy and selling out. If he don’t wanna be a Cane bye. Don’t waste time begging some of these divas to stay home. They don’t want to be here. They’d rather go somewhere else and get beat by us.
