Yes it does but I also believe there needs to be discussion on the LT avenue for Matthew’s. Yes he plays RT in HS but maybe he is set on playing LT in college? If so that is a problem for us obviously

Sure, we can do that, but it would hurt our ability to round out the class with other elite prospects. More importantly, though, that is not really the point. We shouldn't have to outbid A&M to land a recruit. If the money is equal, we should be able to get players like Matthews.
 
Just trust the staff...... Honestly most freshmen are not going to start, hence Samson Okunlola. There are exceptions like CiCi and Cantwell. If we miss, it sucks, not end of the world tho. Do we pay kid tons of $$$ if we are satisfied with OL like Cogden, Max B, etc already on the team?
 
If he doesn't want to come what are they supposed to do? The staff has rolled out the red carpet for him. And you're crazy if you think Miami doesn't have a top NIL offer on the table or willing to match. If he doesn't come then it's simply because he does not want to be here

Kid gave me that vibe when he repeated that Cristobal to the NFL stuff a few months back.

I was like he looking for a reason not to come (Which is his right btw. We aren't entitled to his or any other kid's commitment).
 
This is really surprising with DS being the accounting / finance guru he is. Must have decided to save the money from DJ, MJC, and Matthews for whatever 5 star is announcing next

TBH, the vibes this kid has given off were never the best, at least from my perspective. Just kinda seamed like he was going through the motions. Doesn’t seem to have a lot of 305 emotion to him. He could make us all wrong but I get the general sense it’s The Cult.

this one transcends money and NIL. kid is local and should be in the fold already. fact he isn't at this stage has always been a bad sign for us in the past with local 5 star types..
 
And the meltdown starts. The PTSD canes fans are up in this mother! To be honest if I was a recruit. I have to serious question is this what I want to be apart of? So yes yall are the reason kids don't come here ,yall are the whining fan base in the country. We just came out of the cfp championship game. And yall worry about a miss and a pretentious miss. personally I dont sweat losses. I want us to get all the best guys but we have no control over it and our coaches don't even have that much control over the decisions that are made. can't worry about what you can't control.

It seems like your definition of "High-profile" is simply someone who has a dramatic switch away from UM in the final days. But if UM wins the battle they aren't "high profile"

He has been an absolute monster at this.

The man doesn't get phased by these losses…. He and the staff simply evaluate and then we end up with bargain Portal (or even HS) players like Jakobe Thomas and Keionte Scott (who were in nobody's top 5 or 10 at their portal position, if Scott was it was towards the bottom of those top 10s) and they end up two of the top DBs in the nation, out there knocking OSU and ND's heads off, and getting drafted on day 2.

Now this I can agree with…Between posters and "insiders" on every site, not just here, not just 247 etc… The way these guys talk early in the recruiting cycles is ridiculous and then we have these collective meltdowns. .

But in a counterpoint…Is a "next step" even needed? We were loaded last year (Top 4-5 roster)…And most agree we are loaded this year (top 6-7 minimum and that's being conservative)

I'm not sure anyone is doing it better combining portal and HS like UM is.
