are you going to use those critical thinking skills you were talking about? or are you just going to keep pointing out the misleading 7-6 bs.
What was different about his years at UNC from the other coaches they had??? They weren't under probation. In fact they were cheating. It should have been easier for him.
Do you even watch college football or do you just google stats on the internet? i already explained up and down this thread about his time at UNC im not gonna keep repeating myself feel free to read the posts.
Anybody who is even a casual fan of college football knows what the deal is with Butch and UNC. Just a few internet nerds looking up stats who dont remember when he was actually at UNC (or maybe were too young) and keep saying he was a failure bc they are looking at his record while he was there.
cmon man. yes i rather have butch than richt but that doesnt mean i dont think richt is a good coach. you dont have to be an extremist and go around exaggerating and using misleading numbers to make a point. you think butch sucks? fine thats your opinion. but just know that it sounds like you have no idea what you are talking about and the stats you are using are misleading. im pretty sure you either werent paying attention to CFB when butch was at UNC or are too young to remember. If thats the case dont be talking about something you have no clue about.
I never said Butch sucked. Not once. I simply highlighted how Richt was a significant upgrade over Butch. He's won many more games, in a much tougher conference, at a school that isn't in the top three in terms of resources or history in that conference. I would have actually been happy had we hired Butch as well. I'm ecstatic about Richt. You'll see soon enough. Butch did OK at UNC. Not well. With the talent he had there he should have had better records his last two years there. Were YOU watching??? UNC was better under Mack Brown than they were under Butch. I completely understand that Butch has some mitigating circumstances, but not so much for his time at UNC. His time HERE was hindered by probation, and it took him time to get the program back off the ground. Time most people didn't want to give him. When people were flying fire Butch banners, I was one of the fans that wanted him retained. And I hated to see him go to the Browns when he did. Who knows what happens if he stays. AT the time I was hoping we had finally found a long term answer. But today we have that. We should get at least a decade of winning out of Richt. People cry like he won't be able to beat FSU, but that's hogwash. In three of AL Golden's losses to FSU we were within 5 points. I think we can expect Mark Richt to significantly improve our performance over what Al accomplished.
If u think butch did just "ok not well" at fkin unc idk wut to tell u. U seem to think highly of unc. They were a perennial doormat in football. Then u try to make it look like georgia lacks resources. Stop it man. Then again ur the same person who said they dominated the acc for years lmao wrong sport buddy i think u might be talking about basketball
And funny how im living in the past but then u bring up mack brown at unc lmao that was 20plus fkin years ago
Another thing, you say Butch shoulda won with all the talent he had....uhhhh who do you think recruited all that talent to fkin UNC? u think they were talented when he got there? lmao u obviously werent paying attention to CFB at the time and are going of what you hear and stats and records.
You keep telling me he didn't have any probation while he was there..uhhh do you not know about all of the suspensions and bs surrounding the program the last year. Just stop man, you have no clue what you are talking about. If you werent a fan at the time or just didnt pay attention, fine. But stop making yourself look stupid arguing with me about something you dont know.
Nobody said you were living in the past. Just that you are delusional if you think Butch is in the same league as Richt. I also didn't say UGA lacked resources. Just that they aren't on the same level as LSU, UF, or Bama. But UNC is towards the top of the ACC when it comes to resources as well. It's not an impossible pace to win lilke you try to make it sound. Bunting and Torbush sucked there, but they were also crappy coaches. Crappy coaches struggle even at places like Bama and UM. The other four coaches UNC has had since the late 70's have all been successful there. You are more wrong about UNC being a doormat program than my statement that they were dominant.
