Mark Fletcher

Yeah on some plays he runs right into defenders. This would have been a long run if he makes that cut. With that being said I’m overall impressed with him for sure this season. He will keep getting better and better

This is brutal. I mean....really brutal. It's so many little things that lose you a game. He picks up at least 20 yards here if he follows the obvious daylight. Probably a lot more as the db and safety were retreating and the right side cleared out.

They scored a TD after our punt on this drive.

I remember this one live. He would have been running for a long time if he goes right.

Reminds me a bit of Gus Edwards -- the one at Miami, not the new model with the Ravens.

Same style of hitting the LOS with his body straight up, slowish first step. Needs a hole (not just a crease) to get going.

I do wonder if he put on too much weight this off-season, and will need some time to acclimate to it. I think he's a very good young player, but Im just going off what Ive seen while at Miami

Phil Mafah @ Clemson is a RB I comped Fletcher to coming in who has progressed nicely. I hope Fletcher does the same.

The reality is most RB's don't show a big improvement very often. It's usually a small progression, if any, and you can tell what you're getting pretty early on.

Willis McGahee (good to great) and Mark Walton (awful to solid) are really the only examples of Miami RB's I can think of that made a significant progression.

That's about 1 every 10 years - so we're due. Maybe it'll be Fletcher.

Ajay Allen was hitting his stride, then got injured against UVA. Hurt not having him against N. C. State and FSU on road next 2 weeks.

He was the only one who looked like a real RB in the FSU game. Not sure why he didn't get more burn.
Fletcher hit a 20 yd run on the 1st play of the 2nd Half. From that point on it was:

Fletcher - 7 for 8 yds
Chaney - 5 for 5 yds

FSU completely stuffed our run game in the 2nd half. I don't think it really mattered who was getting the carries.

Others have alluded to it, but marks been here for what 5-6 months now and has been banged up a quarter of the time.

He’s still learning defensive fronts, the blocking scheme, reads etc. it’s why you don’t usually see freshmen play. In high school he was probably used to seeing clean 4-2-5s and his blocking scheme was easy to work behind.

Give the kid time to adjust and get experience. He has very good potential.
