Mark Fletcher SR HL

A lot of nitpicking in this thread. Lol. For the “not seeing the speed” crowd…he’s 6’2 220lbs+..sorry he’s not running a 4.4 in the 40 or he would be the #1 overall player in the country. Nobody ever said he was the 2nd coming of Marcus Dupree..He looks plenty fast enough to me at his size. I’ve seen reports where he’s 225!

Keep in mind this kid will be running behind a supreme OL during his tenure..Mario is building an elite wall at OL. In a few years people will be wondering if our RB room is THAT good or are they just running behind a super elite OL. The days of us not punching it in inside the 5 yard line are over with this kid.

What makes him unique is his blocking and recieving. He’s like an HBack who can also run. As a runner, he reminds me of Tavion Thomas from Utah.
I really like your Tavion Thomas comp

I know everyone wants the elite Najee Harris type - it's just such a small % that's how Fletcher will end up.

If people think Tavion Thomas, Hassan Haskins, Qadree Ollison, Phil Mafah - that spectrum of comps is much more likely and one we should be happy with.

His quick feet, contact balance and vision are what stands out to me. Also, he makes a lot of subtle little moves that allows him to get by tacklers or create tough tackling angles.

Every time I hear "H-Back who can also run", I am thinking about a (sorry) Gator who's name shall not be mentioned on this board.

Lmao what?
He much faster than Thad! And Thads problem was not that he isn’t fast enough, he lacked the burst for what he thought he could do. He is a 245 LB back who in his mind is 190. The problem is he could not execute the moves he wanted to perform fast enough. This guy has speed and burst and gets behind his pads with vision. Complete back! And let’s be honest, he’s doing this against the best of the best in HS. His natural progression with age will have him doing it against college kids in no time. There maybe a learning curve no doubt but when he can play fast he will be a monster. RB is the easiest position to scout IMO.
The problem was that he was lazy and just not tough. He was a natural runner and smooth but didn’t work on his craft. He also was underwhelming in the tough and fisical department for his build. We won’t have that problem with Fletcher. He will be much better although I think his speed is getting the usual post signing up tick. His speed is meh but that’s fine for his game.

If he can body people im good with it, he reminds of Chris Brown Titans RB that ran upright asf but was pretty good. I for some reason got mixed up with a TVols back cause I guess the Tennessee titan thing threw me off. But he runs like him imo

hes a better prospect than Thad, I hated the Thad pick up I dont hate this one. I skeptical if he can be a beast in college, Thad was buns I dont know where he went but if he went to a scrub school Thad can be good vs lower comp. Still at this level he cant rock

Maybe a little better feet than Thomas

Then again Thomas may have put on too much weight this last year. He looked slow this year or at least a one dimensional battering ram....That was always his strength, but looked a little more explosive in 21.

Been waiting for this to drop. Note that he is going against some of the top teams in the nation.

Fletcher has a chance to start by the end of this season, health permitting.

None of the guys have the contact balance that Fletcher and Johnson have.

Citizen might be close, but Chaney has lost that with all of the lower leg injuries. It could just be a confidence thing right now, but as of this moment it’s not there.
LOL Just go back to playing chess or something.

Fletcher is immediately the biggest back and strongest runner on the team when he steps on campus.

Probably 2nd or 3rd fastest.. definitely behind Chris Johnson and something close to Citizen.. probably a step or 2 slower in a 40.

Also probably the 2nd best runner (vision, feet, balance, etc.) with Parrish
Don is faster than Fletcher.
