BrooklynDee mentioned Pryor being the greatest mind in the history of comedy and that's what made me post that. I should have quoted him.

I agree with @Brooklyndee regarding Richard Pryor, from a holistic viewpoint of comedy, but as it relates specifically to stand-up, Dave Chappelle gets the nod for me.

The bit with Pryor jogging with Jim Brown, blowing a snot on Brown, and the ensuing exchange is one I'll never forget.

I love Pryor on Tonight Show explaining how he blew himself up by dunking an Oreo in glass on mixed whole and 2% milk.
