Marion didn't look

Magnanimous of Kee to say that but there was no way he would have made a play on that ball with how badly it was underthrown. His monmentum was carrying him into the end zone.
this. that ball had no chance of being an incompletion by marion. it was so underthrown. marion was yards away from the dude who made the pick by the time it got to him

That throw goes to the right spot and that's either a TD or first and goal at the 3

With the ball at the three. I like our options to score with less than 10 seconds left on the clock for Indy

Great season. Unfortunate turn of events

He didn't need to look. You don't throw that ball in cover 2 unless its all the way over the top. He saw the coverage correctly and ran his route to the end zone where the ball should have been thrown.
This right here. Beck should have saw that and knew if I cant get this to pylon its game over. If you dont have a cannon of an arm you arent completing that pass. Know who you are. He had time, no pressure. Just take the underneath to Toney, your best player.

Yo @LuCane you got access to the SkyCam feed? Just wondering your thoughts on this play. I know Mario said it was the right place to go with the ball, that's just him protecting his guy, I'd be surprised if he had any clue if that was correct or not 2 minutes after the game ended.

But I just don't get this one. We're on the right hash, at the snap the field safety drops to cover the left half...Marion isn't even looking because I don't think he thinks in a million years the ball would come to him. Why would it? (I'm not absolving Marion, I've always been taught you run every single route like you're the primary read, no matter what. He HAS TO look for the **** football). It's an insanely difficult throw, and he's essentially bracketed. If Beck throws a perfect ball, it actually is a TD, because Marion does get into the hole, but that's a high-level NFL throw. Beck simply doesn't have that in the ****nal, he hasn't made that throw once all year. It's a little switch concept with Mali and Bauman, with CJ clearing out on the perimeter. He actually had Bauman from what I can see, but he looks middle to hold the safety, and then looks directly left and fires it. I think he had his mind made up from the snap he was going to take that shot, which is insane to me given the circumstances.

Have you seen the all-22 angle?

Beck has been looking for that shot all year. He tried it against ole Miss on the last drive. If it had connected they would’ve had even more time and we wouldn’t have made the natty. His situational awareness is not good, and his arm isn’t able to make that throw anymore.

Carson is who he is. I’m not even mad at him. All three losses ended on one of his picks, it’s just who he is.

I don’t have access to all-22. I was there and watched the play. It looked predetermined and the trigger pulled too early (and poorly thrown on top of it). The shot makes almost no sense given the coverage and game situation, but I’m open to learn why it would if someone has a compelling argument. That ball needs to go to the middle of the field and I said that live.

Easy to say in hindsight but if you look, you slow down, and you don't beat the safety to the end zone if the ball is thrown where it needs to be.

He peeked and it was too late.

Don't overthrow a deep ball in 1 on 1 and don't underthrow a deep ball in cover 2. Beck guessed and thought he had 1 on 1 and Marion read it right.

We lost 3 games this year and Beck threw a pick on the final play all 3 times. Its what he does.
I saw that play coming at me in the stands and I immediately thought Tua hitting Smith when they beat UGA. It was the same **** route and coverage. Beck has got to let that rip and we are kicking an XP to take a lead with 45 seconds left.

I meant the SkyCam broadcast. I just tried to screen record it and it won’t let me. But I’m just not seeing what he saw at all.

Difference is Bama was on the short side of the field. Shorter throw. We were on the other hash my guy. Tua couldn't make that throw. Like @OrangeBowlMagic said, that is a high level NFL throw that Beck hasnt made once this year. There are starting NFL QBs who cant make that throw. Just a terrible decision and terrible throw.

True. That’s fair. Still feels like he either tried to fit it in there and left something off it. But it is a really high level throw like you said.

Am I tripping tho bc everyone says Toney was open here but to me he is open but gets tackled for an 8 yd gain, CJ daniels on the other hand is wide open and has a 1on1 for about minimum 15 yds on the right sideline.

Marion probably thought I am double covered aint no way he throwing to me

Play happened right in front of us and it seemed pretty obvious it was a miscommunication between Beck and Marion.

When asked about it in the press conference, Beck said it was just a great play by the IU defender. Which is also true, but I appreciated him having his teammate’s back as well, even if he himself was partly (or mostly) to blame.

It’s a 60 yard throw that had to be thrown on a rope. Right hash to left front pylon is Matt Stafford ****. Just no way he’s making that throw

Not sure if this has been brought up, but Marion didn't even look.
It's a bad decision by Beck....but Marion looked like he thought his route was a decoy. Even when he did turn his head, it was super slow.

He turns faster and maybe he breaks up the INT.
Lmao that was not on him! Period! The decoy worked, Beck just blind AF
