I swear limping to a victory against SMU would have lost us one of the remaining games, most likely Pitt, or maybe even an embarrassment at Blacksburg.
The funny thing about this ‘debate’ was that I wasn’t the one of the posters who said we’ve seen a totally or ‘structurally’ different offense. But, we’ve seen new formations, a new focus (using Toney’s motion more and overall featuring him more), and breaks in tendencies. All I know is that @LuCane knows ball. Bottom line
My layman's view is that the structure of this offense has not really changed, it's not like 500 new plays have been installed. But as I said with Danny and Pete back in October, there was nothing so broken with this offense that couldn't be fixed THIS season. Sometimes, you really have to wait till the off-season to make changes that matter
You can have the same set of plays, but how you mix those plays, your personnel groupings and tempo can impact how effective they are going to be over the course of a game
10 different chefs can have the same ingredients and you'd probably get 10 different dishes.
Personally, I still want a bit more quick tempo at times...

If you add those up, that is plainly a different approach to getting too tight when the pressure previously increased.
And, I have no idea who is singularly responsible for that approach or if they all decided it. None of us are in their meetings. I just wanted it to change and it has been adjusted.
I’d hope staying diverse and focused on breaking tendencies is at the heart of what we take to College station.
what is a Bucci? eye-talian?I’m sure drinking 30 Bucci’s a day doesn’t help with his stress levels either lol. I can remember going to La Lechonera in Key West with my dad as a kid and downing a couple of those. Stuff is like jet fuel.
don't put that evil on me*T formation
Theres definitely been some times I think the fans have been overly critical of our identity
When games get tough why wouldn’t you lean on the strength of the team? The OL and physicality is what he’s been wanting to build for 4 years. Use it.
Going back to some of the early games we didn’t take the foot off the gas as much as some say, in my opinion. Notre Dame we did have a drive we ran it 3 times and punted but we got stuffed on 3rd and 1. 9/10 we get that yard and maybe things change but we tried to throw the ball
What’s been different to me lately is the HOW
Using Toney is creative ways. Using him like a decoy. Sending Lofton in motion. I’d love one of these analytical sites to show me how many yards we get per play when we send Toney in motion
It’s simple small things like this that can put this team over the top
You’re not stopping us on 3rd and 1 if you hesitate a millisecond when you see Toney on the move
So I don’t think it’s been a huge philosophical change. We never needed one which I suppose was the most frustrating part
Also to be fair our offense was HORRIBLE early in the season with pre snap penalties so you can want to be creative but the players had to step up as well
Some of our injuries are about to be a blessing in disguise as well offense and defense
We had some players like Marion, Pringle, Poyser, O’Connor etc step up
This is a dangerous ******* football team man
Absolutely. That’s why it’s nice getting CJ back and Lofton has started to produce Marion/Moore/Upshaw stepping upOne thing I would say to add balance is that, for example, using Toney in motion will hit different now, as opposed to the first game, or first couple of games.
Everybody knows who he is now - he’s being schemed for. Initially, as far as our opposition, Toney was a three star that our opponents probably were preparing for as they normally would prepare for a receiver in his position. Now it’s a little different
He's now a little less of a doosh in my book....Joey’s story about Cortez taping him to the goal post was hilarious. He had high praise for him and the Blades brothers.
Exactly. Amazing how a narrative gets put out into the universe and then bias kicks in to reinforce that narrative. That video doesn’t really match what the OP is saying
Miami will never win an ACC title and not be in the CFP. But no I'd rather the shot at the National Championship if the situation was between these exact two choices.I was thinking of this the other day.
Would you rather be Duke with the ACC chip or be Miami in the college football Playoffs?
The guy wanted it so bad for miamiSaw that as well, I think it was on Podcast w Herbstreit and that homo galloway
And I too posted that Mario seems different since Smu
I love it!!!
