Expensive Al Golden
Right because people rarely change their religion. Like religion IMO, the foundation of his beliefs are pretty good but needs to be more nuanced and adapt to the times we are in.That's even worse.
Send in Deloitte... how much is Caveman Decision Making costing Miami...Interesting point.
Rudy Fernandez (then UM's Chief of Staff and very close Joe E ally) was on OBB's podcast day after-ish Mario got the nod and Joe E (and Rudy) were acknowledged key figures in making it happen...
He specifically mentioned to Toast, "...we have calculated a Top 10 Miami is equivalent to $100MM in brand advertising..."
IF this holds true, and they remain in decision making roles, at some point, Mario's buyout costs vs lost value to UM on the X, Y chart will pass a critical inflection point of no return.
I suspect that's when a change is made.
He’ll go .500 because all the other coaches are retarded too, it takes them half a season to remember Mario just repeats the same game plan game after game year after year.I’d be surprised if he goes 0.500 from here on out until firing him is financially feasible. He’s cooked.
That’s a drive killing thing. Even without the five-yard penalty…You forgot how you do one thing is how you do everything. He must false start a lot in the sheets
Maybe not fake, but it is "bully" bravado -- "State Champs" "Real Men" "Back to work" --- but then on game day is sweating bullets, clenched ****, coaching not to lose --- because he has no clue how to fix it live... ever... no feel for the game...Maybe that's not 'fake,' but he often preaches about toughness. By what definition of 'tough' do you lean toward clearcut risk aversion in the face of pressure? He doesn't manage risk; he sometimes avoids it. I don't believe he's a liar. I just don't understand how to reconcile those two contradicting realities.
I remember this pod… it was a week or two before Alonzo highsmith was on OBB telling us the next big thing in college football was a tough between the guards running game, because nobody will want to tackle a RB for 4 quarters.Interesting point.

He’s no bully. He makes faces, that’s it.Maybe not fake, but it is "bully" bravado -- "State Champs" "Real Men" "Back to work" --- but then on game day is sweating bullets, clenched ****, coaching not to lose --- because he has no clue how to fix it live... ever... no feel for the game...
This. Talk is not = to product. Therein lies the frustration for me.Maybe not fake, but it is "bully" bravado -- "State Champs" "Real Men" "Back to work" --- but then on game day is sweating bullets, clenched ****, coaching not to lose --- because he has no clue how to fix it live... ever... no feel for the game...
Amen. His failures as a head coach go well-beyond bad gameday decisions and lack of schematic ability.I think this made up lie that Mario is a good evaluator is about to be shattered. His Oregon hauls showed he wasnt. @Rellyrell he has countless posts outlining this for years now but people didnt want to listen. He would have some home runs and a tons of strikeouts. This is not different than Mario is a perfectionsit and runs a tight which again was a lie.
He clearly learned nothing from Saban.I think he’s relatively authentic, his issue is that he doesn’t know any other way.
A snap infraction sounds like you can't get the bra offThat’s a drive killing thing. Even without the five-yard penalty…-
