people can down vote me all they want but I honestly feel like this is his butch davis season when they were flying banners "Champs to chumps". This dude cares more than anyone in here. He will make the adjustments on staff that is needed and get it going the right way. fans saying how bad he is, don't stick around for the good years because when it's all said and done we'll look back on this season and laugh at how bad we were. Better days are ahead folks. just not quick enough for most
My buddy and I agreed that we are going to judge Mario after year 3. There's so much that needs to be cleaned up (including his selection of coaches) between now and then that it's not even worth the time to think about it until then. He signed a 10 year contract....not like he's going anywhere any time soon. So, I'm choosing to give Mario time to get it right.

A lack of talent doesn't keep from being competitive?? What kind of dribble is this? I want YOU get the in the ring Usman or Roll with Ryan Gordon. Go few rounds with Ryan Garcia. Tell ow that goes....

Talent keeps you in game. Coaching wins you game. I believe Mario will have us loaded for bear, but it is extremely important he hires tactician as coordinators.

I would give up my left nut to hire Phil Longo. Because he checks the box for Mario: Running the ball. But by spreading defenses out. Gattis pull a fast one, I thought the offense was going look Shannahan's.
unfortunately think Longo gets the NC job when mack brown says good bye

I didn't get the vibe at all. Especially when he said about talent and stuff you look at it in the off-season. I know we as fans view the season as over but reality is we have 3 more weeks. Changes will definitely come but it won't be right now. And everyone needs to remember Alonzo is watching all of this. He's imput will be big this off-season
Problem is Alonzo is a talent evaluator and always has been. His background isn’t as a coach or GM evaluating coaching and dealing with coaching staffs

Some of you sure do twist words.... smh

Not sure what you want Mario to say. He acknowledges the issues. He's not going to publicly castrate GAttis or any coach, to make the fan base feel better
Problem is I don’t think he is or can correctly pinpoint the issues. He keeps mentioning mentality for everything. He said mentality is the key to stop the counter. Apparently running any stunts or games by your defensive line or keying in on the guards, fb/hb/te makes no difference?

It’s quite alarming also that he mentioned they have tried everything offensively to get going but that has only been the past 5 weeks or so, it took a full spring, a month of fall camp and 4-5 games to realize that the skill set of this team didn’t come close to matching your envisioned offensive scheme.

Exactly. He may simply be ANOTHER CANE living in the 80's who believes you can win in today's day of CFB playing like you did back in the stone ages because it worked when they played.

Way to many former Canes are stuck in the past. Feel like you can do **** from 40 years ago and it will be the same today. Football has evolved dramatically since we were last relevant, let alone from the playing days of Cristobal and Highsmith.
What this team ran while Mario was here was a pretty explosive high powered offense with Erickson then Toretta and Randall Hill, Lamar Thomas, Horace Copeland, etc all playing outside. It was hardly the grind it out ball control offense he and Gattis envisioned.

For that time, he did run an explosive one back offense that had some spread in there. My point is, the entire game and offenses have evolved since than. Scoring in the 30s was high octane in those days.

You don't think I all his years of being around the game of football, staffs and coaches that he doesn't have a great understanding of what it is need to get where we see trying to go?

I honestly want to live in your world.

We looked like dog **** in the first 4 games before the injury bug hit us. That’s a bad excuse.

If we would have looked great before the majority of the injuries happened, I would agree with you, but that is not the case.

We had Colby Young riding pine in the aTm game when he could have most probably helped us win that game.

They refused to make tweaks until we got blown out by MTSU, and then reverted to the 3 plays and a cloud of dust offense after TVD was destroyed on a sack against Duke.

Yes, in the last 2 games injuries played a major role, but we had enough talent to win at least 2 more games before the injuries mounted up.
He doesn’t believe that. lol 😂

There is no excuse for the team to look this bad this season. We played better against Alabama who went to the national championship last year then we did a 4-3 FSU team with a lot of the same players outside of Rambo, Harley and Zion

U mean our best offensive players? Lol.

when FSU to j Ville state, they lost on a fluke. we have lost to MTSU in a fashion that was no fluke

Let’s be clear for a second; Jax St was a FCS school at the time, MTSU is a G5 FBS school. Not only was Jax St a FCS school, but a sub .500 FCS school. There is no “fluke” losses in that moment b/c u shouldn’t be in that position as a FBS school, let alone a P5 FBS school.

I really want mario to succeed here but with every interview and every game he looks more and more like a golden clone.

Golden had less talent when he arrived and he would curb stomp marios team.

If he doesn't get rid of at least gattis im done with Mario. He needs to cut gattis and steele.
Truth be told Golden had the following folks on his roster his first year:
Jacory Harris
Mike James
Stephen Morris
Denzel Perriman
Philip Dorsett
Travis Benjamin
Seantral Henderson
Allen Hurns
Dallas Crawford
Sean Spence
Oliver Vernon

I would love to have some of that talent in the current roster
