Mario on Gattis / Staff

If Gattis remains ticket sales and recruiting BOTH will take a major hit. And you will lose guys on the current roster that you want to keep.

given the super high expectation that existed at the beginning of the calendar year that came crashing down harder than a ***** whose coke ran out many hours ago, keeping Gattis will ruin whatever good will Mario has right now. i believe he knows this. if he doesn't know this, he isn't it. and we are screwed for a long, long time

1. Mario's run with Herbert was a FAIL. Now, precise reasons why? I don't know. Was it OC? A bad OL? Did Herbert get fantastic coaching with the Chargers and simply mature/flourish? I really don't know. Didn't watch much Oregon football. But I'll just drop this as an L on his lap.
it.

This is a fairy tale.

Will Cristobal teams always run the ball...Yes...

But in the 2 years under Cristobal Herbert threw for

61-14 TD/INT ratio...8 yards per pass...While there was a little dip in Cristobal's first year(Still good numbers)...He rebounded his senior year and finished top 15 in rating, 29th in yppass, 14th in rating and the Oregon offense ranked 8th in FEI and 15th in SP+. All with 1 7th round WR taken in the 2018 (Herbert), 2019 (Herbert), 2020 (year after Herbert) total taken in those drafts and that was a 7th rounder. In all fairness, Cristobal did improve the WR room, but they are playing now (stud Franklin, TE Ferguson)

While I admit maybe not it wasn't. quite to the level he could have developed under some of the best passing game coordinators and QB coaches...Herbert was fine under CMC. Never understood this fairy tale.

If Mario wants to ff into this century offensively but still have a strong running game, then he should pay a king's ransom for Garrett Riley, OC at TCU, Lincoln Riley's brother. If any of you have The Athletic, read the article about his offense, the run game, and how he balances it with the pass game. This guy's offense is what Mario should be begging for. I'll be surprised if he doesn't get a gig somewhere, but this is the way for Mario.
