No way I'm writing Deion off. NIL is likely big for most players, but so is the aura of Prime. I refuse to believe JSU was the highest bidder for Hunter
Perhaps I have been unclear. Deion, alone, is not going to get many high level recruits to his school, wherever that is. But, if things are reasonably close, my opinion is that some kids will come because they want to play for the legend that is Deion.True, but if McClain was enamored with Sanders wouldn't he have been in contact with Prime when the man was still coaching at Jackson State? He's suddenly on board with a Colorado program that went 1-11 last year and a city that is -24º F today, after being all over Miami for months?
Was an amazing class. To @SWFLHurricane ’s point though the beauty of that class was only Gore, Sean, Winslow and rolle played as true freshmen because the team was already loaded.Without looking, in the class with Taylor were Gore, Parrish, Wilfork, Rolle, Jennings, Winslow, McIntosh, Harris. You can argue this was the best Canes best class ever.
The 96-99 classes turned out to be every bit as good as 2000...although we didn't know it at the time. As you said, by 2000 it was the proverbial icing on the cake. Was an amazing class. I remember Sean T and Winslow being complete animals on special teams as freshman… especially that kick off team. It seemed like one of those two were in on every tackle. Was an amazing class. They never got coached up. That is my concern as long as Gattis is here.In hindsight the 2008 class didn't live up to it, but at the time of signing day they were the #1 class and they were loaded with HS talent.
They had absolutely no business being #1 at all. Wayyyy to LBer heavy. Bama really had the #1 class. In hindsight the 2008 class didn't live up to it, but at the time of signing day they were the #1 class and they were loaded with HS talent.
