I didn't hate the timeout. I don't think there's a "right" or "wrong" way to play that. I don't care to, but I'm sure I could go back and find examples of very successful coaches who have done it both ways.
We just literally can't have anything nice, so we call the timeout, and our defensive end blasts the QB in the face because he doesn't hear the whistle. IMO this is a clear case of playing the result. If we call the TO, Lightfoot holds up, and we look prepared after the TO and they don't pick up the first down, everyone is saying how smart it was to let everyone get a breath and take a look at how they lined up/what they wanted to do. I just cannot believe we run into the ******* kid and they don't even have to run a play to get a first down. It's so goddamned hard to be a fan of this program.
