Mario Monday Press Conference

Why does Caneville have access to these things?
Almost all college football programs now have access to certain types of bloggers and YouTube creators, especially someone who’s connected to the community whether you like it or not

what did Dawson mean when talking about the interception play in OT that the "ball probably should've gone to Jojo but he was 'unavailable'"? a reporter asked him "what do you mean?" and he just said "Watch the play".
He was tackled...gross DPI.

Let's not forget about picking up a flag for DPI THAT THEY ******* THREW, while also calling a hold that was literally nothing close to a hold on Cici on the most important play of the game.

Even if you just keep the DPI and the totally phantom hold, it's offsetting and we get another shot to end the game.

Maddening. Agree with all, this doesn't make it much better, we should have been up more. But it's still frustrating as ****.
I’m by no means blaming the refs for the loss. But those calls changed the game. The fumble that wasn’t and the roughing could’ve ended the game.

A local writer asked Dawson what he would say to CIS message board. And this was his response.

Absolutely. A Mario-esque timeout if I’ve ever seen one

I didn't hate the timeout. I don't think there's a "right" or "wrong" way to play that. I don't care to, but I'm sure I could go back and find examples of very successful coaches who have done it both ways.

We just literally can't have anything nice, so we call the timeout, and our defensive end blasts the QB in the face because he doesn't hear the whistle. IMO this is a clear case of playing the result. If we call the TO, Lightfoot holds up, and we look prepared after the TO and they don't pick up the first down, everyone is saying how smart it was to let everyone get a breath and take a look at how they lined up/what they wanted to do. I just cannot believe we run into the ******* kid and they don't even have to run a play to get a first down. It's so goddamned hard to be a fan of this program.

Coaches do it both ways, you’re right. But I don’t like bailing out a team when we already had the right personnel on the field. It wasn’t some exotic formation either. It felt like we had them right where we wanted them. Just **** luck.

its 4 and long and they have no time outs. if youre going to call the TO, call it early. dont call it to the point where theyre all about to go off hoping someone hears a whistle.

it was stupid.

JoJo gets tackled on the pay that officially lost you the game. Should’ve been 1st and goal and not SMU ball.

Lightfoot runs into the QB and gets a flag on their last ditch effort to keep the game going.

After two bull**** calls that literally decided the game. None of our coaches have the balls to do what Dabo, Cutcliffe, and everybody else does and call out the officials. Pathetic.

Not to mention our last regulation drive the totally phantom holding call on Maui and the picked up flag where Marion gets grabbed on the deep route, which was as plain as interference gets.

Does CJ and Fletch being out force us to open it up more? Actually ya know what, nvm. I’m not doing this lol.
I’m not a Fletch fan. But more of Lyle instead of Fletcher has been absolutely atrocious for us all year. Brown has been fine.

Hopefully we can see Pringle+CWH I guess.

The entire point of calling the timeout is waiting to see what they’re going to run. So no, you don’t call it early. You call it right before the snap and you don’t even think your ******* edge rusher is going to smash into the quarterback like a banshee, unless you realize your program is totally cursed beyond belief. In which case, sure, of course he will, and he’ll probably pop a hamstring trying to pull up.

If you think the call was dumb, that’s fine. Like I said, I’m sure many coaches would advocate one way or the other. But the timing wasn’t dumb. We’re just dumb and apparently can’t hear.

Caneville trying to push the braindead JoJo narrative about him not getting targeted in the second half even though he something like the second or third most snaps at WR on the day
He’s embarrassing with his narratives. This is the same guy that kept asking over and over why Jaccuri Brown isn’t starting.
