Mario is such an awful in game coach.

Please tell me you are trolling. A DOG penalty is worth less than the TO, because even if you don't get the TD, they're trapped and you have 3 TOs to stop the clock. There's a good chance Miami gets the ball back with good/great field position with a minute left with a chance to tie. The one thing you can't do is give up a TO and NOT SCORE.

30 seconds is worth more than 5 yards late in a game. 30 seconds is MULTIPLE plays. Take the penalty, reset and then go for the TD.

No you play like you think you are going to score no the other way. Taking a five yard penalty decreases those chance of scoring substantially. And did you really think the way Miamis defense was playing they would stop Louisville?

How so? Three TOs in that situation, even if you don't score ensures that barring you giving up a 1st down(Most coaches will run the ball 3 consecutive times), means you can stop the clock immediately after every single snap. If you don't give them 15 yards with an unsportsmanlike penalty, they are likely punting from deep in their own territory, which means you likely get the ball back near the 50 with a minute or so remaining.

That conservative bs before half cost us points. Dawson o is to predictable . We need to go deep more. We use to be TE U now we dont even use them

Did you see Miamis defense play all day? How would you have any confidence they would stop Louisville to have a chance to get the ball back?

You have to account for the possibility of not scoring. It's stupid to take a TO, which basically is an all in move, when you can easily get two bites at the apple.

Horrendous game day coaching and clock management from a coach with decades experience is not something that is going to change with time friend. He is who he is at this point.

Agree we need to use the tight end more. It was 3rd and 2 we are a better running team than throwing I don’t think a run is a terrible call. Just need to execute that play better imo. Also Louisville was gifted their whole drive before the half by flags, free timeouts, and somehow during the punt the play clock was put back to 2:18, than after the first play of that drive it was put back to 2:19. They gained a second on a play somehow.

Yes I saw them, I also saw that Louisville wasn't going to risk it late. They were going to run the ball into the line, and hope to break one. They weren't going to do anything exotic late. In other words, having 3 TOs makes FAR more sense than letting them run clock, in exchange for five **** yards. Everyone knew Miami was going to throw it, you aren't running on 4th down in that situation anyway.

I guess I just look at it differently than some of y’all. I didn’t believe in our defense stopping them again so yes I thought that play was the game if we didn’t score.
 
Admin probably working out an extension for mario he got the team playing hard and they only loss by 7 to 2 top 10 teams

I don’t agree with anything you just said. Difference in opinions and will leave it at that. I don’t see Miami stopping them and I also think if we had a timeout Louisville throws on third down.

Them throwing on third down is unlikely because if there's a drop, there's an incompletion, it stops the clock and allows Miami to keep a TO in their pocket(Had Miami not botched it in the first place). Never mind the fact that Plummer is extremely turnover prone and they wanted to take the ball out of his hands. It's beyond obvious that you didn't think this through. This isn't a disagreement, this is you being stubborn and reading to argue, not comprehend.
